I have two kids with different multiple food allergies, so I have to do alot of creative substitution with the recipes on this site. Bread, we use the bread machine several times a week. Several recipes on this site have been a huge help once tweaked to our allergies... no dairy, egg, beef, seeds, nuts, peanuts, shellfish or fish. Letting the menfolks cook LOL! Decided to learn to cook in my thirties after many years of successfully dialing for takeout.... signed up for Cooking 101 thru local Adult Ed. Turned out to be Introduction to French Gourmet Cooking, I didn't even know how to boil water LOL but managed to finish the course with only a few burns and cuts. One of my first attempts to make meat involved following a roast turkey recipe. Being very literal I put my thermometer into the bird and it promptly melted and ruined the entire turkey.... I used my outside window thermometer - the only one I owned.
