Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
This was the first apple pie that I ever made and it is fantastic! I made it for Easter dinner and it was a hit with everyone, even my picky 4 year old. I followed the recipe exactly and had no problems. I was afraid that the apples might not coat evenly, but they came out perfectly. The topping is great because it camouflages a not quite perfect lattice work crust. I will definitely be making this again! Just be sure to put something underneath the pie, it will drip in the oven.

Chinese Cabbage Salad I
Great salad, I made it for a birthday party and everyone loved it! I halved the sugar, it could probably even use less. I substituted walnuts and rice vinegar because that's what I had on hand. Next time I think I will try it with some sesame oil, as another reviewer suggested!

Oatmeal Carmelitas
Very tasty recipe, not too sweet. I doubled the recipe and should have cut down on the butter. It was literally pooling on top of the bottom layer after the pre-bake and I used a paper towel to get some of it off! I followed suggestions and did not melt the butter. I also used suger-free caramel topping because that was all they had at the store. The doubled recipe cooked in 22 minutes in a glass dish. It set very well and was easy to cut after cooling in the fridge.
