About this Cook
I am a Manager in HR who has a husband who likes to cook and invent new recipes just as much as I do!
My favorite things to cook
Anything in the skillett or on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The recipies from my roots: Italian, German and Irish!
My cooking triumphs
Matt & Patti's Caesar Italian Pasta Salad that my husband and I invented a few years ago. It tastes great and everyone seems to request the recipe. BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Dip that I came up with as an alternative to the traditional 7 layer mexican flavor dip. Yummy and hearty!
My cooking tragedies
Dad and I made these traditional Italian ricotta cheese cookies and did it with way to much flour and they came out like hockey pucks!

Soft Christmas Cookies
Finally a sugar cookie that has FLAVOR and not just flour and cardboard. Actually tastes like a soft sugar cookie you get from the grocery store bakery. This is the best cut out cookie recipe I have found so far, and I have tried hundreds over the past 10 years! (sugar cookies are my husbands favorite) I used only 3 cups of flour per others suggestions, and that was my only modification. I used powdered sugar and flour to roll them out. Kept their shape, puffed slightly, chewy goodness. Firm enough to frost and not break. Thanks Georgie!

Ghirardelli(R) Dark Chocolate Truffles
Very easy and quick to make. I covered mine in both milk chocolate and the other half in white chocolate. Brought them into work today and there were none left. Will make again. Very pretty and quite yummy!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
Tasty and SUPER simple to make. I timed it -- this only took me 4 minutes to get all ingredients together, then open and dump into the crock pot. I used frozen precooked chicken strips and was able to shred them later in the crock pot just fine. Nice and spicy, great texture and the crushed tortilla chips on top give it just the right amount of salty and crunch. Even my mother-in-law liked it!
