Easy Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
I made this with a german chocolate cake mix and made a peanut butter glaze frosting (with pb and powdered sugar). YUMMY! It was very moist and really good. You could do any number of combinations too.

Chili Cheese Dog Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2002
I made tator tots to go with this and figured next time I will top with tator tots instead of bisquick. I cooked it at a higher temp because I was baking with tots and it still worked fine. Thanks for an easy, tasty recipe.

Creamy Kielbasa and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2002
This recipe was delicious. I did use some thickening as well as far more potatoes than called for, an extra can of chicken broth (I didn't have beef) and 1 beef bouillon cube. This tasted almost like a traditional German soup that my mom-in-law makes that takes her all day to do. The only thing different in hers is homemade "kneflas" (noodles). I may try that next time. Thanks for the great recipe.

Calico Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2002
This recipe was good and easy. I used a package of the pre-cooked bacon instead of cooking it with my ground beef. After ground beef was cooked, I put it all in a crockpot and let it cook for a couple of hours. I wouldn't see any reason why it couldn't cook all day either. I might try cutting back a tad on the brown sugar because it was a little sweet, still very good though.

Dressing for Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2002
I made this for a get-together and everyone said they loved it. I even had some people that said they didn't really like potato salad, but they really liked mine. This amount makes a generous batch of dressing. I doubled it and used 3/4 or more of a 5 lb bag of redskin potatoes and it was more than enough (my hubby would have preferred a tad less dressing). Overall an A+.

Easy Homemade Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2002
This recipe was super easy, but as with others I used less water and much more chili powder. I also added fresh garlic with hamburger while cooking instead of garlic powder. A tasty version of basic chili.

Pecan Pie Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
Tasted great. I made 36 tarts with the dough, but had enough filling to make another batch the next day. I will remember next time to either double the dough or cut the filling ingredients in half.
