Barbequed Hamburgers

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2002
These were delicious and very easy to make. I made a sauce out of equal parts barbecue sauce and ketchup, and both my hubby and I really enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing!

Peachy Chicken Picante

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2002
I have got to say that this was one of the most delicious dishes that I have tasted in a long time. It turned out that I did not have a full half-cup of salsa, so I added some Chi-Chi's salsa vinaigrette dressing that was in the fridge. Lacking orange juice I added some Best Foods Oriental Orange salad dressing, and that was delicious. All in all it was a great meal, but the salad dressing did make the sauce a little bit runny. I am going to use the full half-cup of salsa next time and see how I like it then. Delicious and thanks for sharing! I've also made this several times since I posted the first review, and my favorite variation thus far is to use a jar of peach-pineapple salsa, cut the chicken breasts into cubes, and let it simmer in the salsa, then serve it with brown rice. I love this stuff!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
My petulant husband says this isn't banana pudding unless you use just banana pudding for the pudding base - otherwise it's just pudding with bananas on top. I plan to make this for him using banana pudding to satisfy his discriminating palate.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2002
I'm so glad to finally find this recipe! I made these in seventh grade home ec class and they were wonderful. I have found, like another reviewer, that they do get really sugary the next day. A great cookie though and much easier than making butter toffee.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2002
WOW! I was looking for a quick and easy dessert to make for a family gathering. When I found this recipe I was curious, and my husband is always harping at me because everything I cook is too complicated. I tried this and thought it was great! I doubled the recipe and the crumble - there was a lot of it and I ended up throwing some of it away. When it was baking the house smelled absolutely wonderful, and despite myself I had to try some. And I don't even like rhubarb! What a delicious treat and thank you for posting this great recipe! Corrie in Washington State

Creamy Chicken Rice and Veggie Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2002
Just pondering this - but what I would do when making this is divide the one and a quarter cups of milk up evenly between the packages of Rice-A-Roni and use water for the rest. Then you would get the nice creamy flavor but not the stickiness.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2002
Wow, Cathy, I just want to thank you for this terrific bread. The baking powder that I used was out of date only slightly (12/94) :) so it was a little flat and dense. It was simply blissful. My friends kept asking for more banana brownies. The next time I make this (and there will definitely be a next time) I will buy a brand new tin of baking powder and enjoy it at its fully risen gloriousness. Once again, thank you!

Spaghetti Salad I

My Gramma has made this for years with leftover spaghetti - for those people who aren't sure what kind of salad seasoning to use, Gramma has always used Salad Supreme and it turns out delicious! I can't wait to try this recipe. Sounds delicious!

My husband complained it tasted too much like wine, but I thought it was very good. I will make it again using a little less wine.

I have made these twice and they are YUMMY! The chicken is moist and tender and gets a wonderful flavor from the garlic and buttermilk. Do not miss out on this one!

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2002
I made this for dinner quite a while ago and just now got around to reviewing it! I loved this. The only problem that I had was that the potatoes were still a little bit too crunchy, but otherwsie a great dish. No complaints here.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

My husband and I had these for dinner last week and we both thought they were delicious! I made some without the parmesan cheese and some with, and the ones with the cheese were better than the ones without. I will never try another nugget recipe again!

Hershey's ® Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

I made this for my husband's birthday. It was absolutely sinful and we both loved it. A friend said it was just like the pudding cake that his ex-wife's mother used to make! Great served with vanilla bean Dreyer's ice cream. :)

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2002
I futzed with this a little...I didn't use raspberry jam or the glaze. Instead, I used sour cherry preserves and they were a hit! I took three dozen to work and they were gone in a flash. The absolute most wonderful recipe for thumbprint cookies I have ever tried - thanks Dee!

Sinless Mississippi Sin

I didn't make this in the bread bowl, just in a casserole dish. Some of the guests were afraid of it...it just didn't look too pretty! (I guess that's the advantage of the bread bowl LOL) There was one guy who totally demolished the dip and said it was great and wanted the recipe, so...I guess I could try it again. :)

Country Style Chicken

Wow! I've never had chicken this tender before. Both my husband and I loved that you didn't even need a knife to cut it. Although he was a little wary about it being coated in graham cracker crumbs it was delicious and unusual. I'll make this one again. :)
