About this Cook
I enjoy cooking, but I don't get to do it all that often because I work odd hours of the day. So I just got a slow cooker and will hopefully be able to throw some things in before I go and have some dinner when I get back.
My favorite things to cook
I like making things that have a variety of flavors in them. I particularly like the salty sweet combinations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving, we throw the Turkey in the oven and go to the zoo while we're waiting for it to finish.
My cooking triumphs
I'm always proud when I can make a good meal for a large group of people
My cooking tragedies
Oh there have been so many...

Best Spinach Dip Ever
This is the same recipe that I have always grown up with and gotten so many compliments on! I love the crunchiness that the water chestnuts add, and the leek soup as opposed to the vegetable mix just adds a wonderful flavor. The only difference is that I do use the entire package of frozen spinach.

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices
This was a delicious recipe! It had great flavor and was a quick, easy meal! I paired it with asparagus seasoned with olive oil and the same seasoning that i just tossed in the pan after the fish cooked. It was a wonderful combo.

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches
I was given this recipe for a bridal shower and they were a hit. They have a good variety of veggies and dried fruit which makes you feel pretty good about eating it. Good flavors melding together.
