About this Cook
I'm a mother of 3 with one grand-daughter. I have been married to my husband Scott for almost 18 years. I have lived in New Orleans and Las Vegas and now reside in Meridian, ID and love it. I work as a lunch lady at my youngest daughter, Julia's school.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook! I'll try anything and everything. Baking and slow cooking are my favorites. I love to organize and throw parties. Allrecipes has been apart of my life of cooking for over a decade now and I just couldn't live without it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
New Years appetizer party! Everyone invited brings various small bites of food and dessert to munch on all night long. I have an annual Mardi Gras party also. It's my favorite party of the year...Red Beans and Rice, corn bread, Shrimp Creole and of course a King cake!
My cooking triumphs
I became responsible for both Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas for both me and my husbands familys (about 20 or more people). For many years I would take great pride in this and had many wonderful times. My husband, children and I moved to different state where we have no family and spent our first holidays with just us. I still cooked enough for a small army!
My cooking tragedies
I have many. This is one of them. The first time I made lasagne I invited my husbands mother and grandmother over for dinner. This is about 12 years ago. I guess I put a little to much cheese and it just was a melty unedible mess on our plates. Oh yeah, I burnt the garlic bread. I felt terriblely, but everyone was very nice and understanding.

Peach Cake II
Very moist cake! Not very peachy though. More of the spice comes through instead of the peaches. Heated up with some vanilla ice cream...yummmmm.

GA Peach Pound Cake
This is a very good recipe but it wasn't as peachy tasting as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, I will make this whenever I have fresh peaches!

Juicy Peach Crisp
I love the almond extract in this recipe. I did a half cup of flour, half cup quick cook oats like other reviewer did only because I love oats. This was just so very good. A great thing to do with all those fresh peaches my friends give me.
