Quinoa Pilaf

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
The only thing I changed was all of the lemon flavors. I added no lemon anything. Even DH & DS liked this one! Ha Ha they ate something healthy and enjoyed it...shhh don't tell them, lol. After posting I remembered that I had some leftover and the next day I stuffed the Quinoa Pilaf into blanched , green bell peppers, topped with tomato paste and baked like stuffed peppers. That was even better than the pilaf alone...and....healthy!

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

These came out very nice. I was out of buns and didn't feel like going to the store. I made these and topped with sloppy Joe filling. Great , hearty rolls.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
My new favorite oatmeal cookie recipe! They are soft and have nice flavor. I added half the amount of sugar (as I do in all baking), added half whole wheat flour, and I put in 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips and 1/2 cup raisins instead of all raisins. With my small cookie scoop I made 110 little, two bite cookies. Four days later and they are still soft.

Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine II

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
I made this recipe because I was out of regular flour and I'm glad I did!!! I doubled the recipe and used it to make one large 15" x 20" pizza. I pre baked the crust for 8 minutes at 475 degrees as another reviewer recommended, then added my toppings and finished baking.WOW!!! It really tasted like a sicilian pizza from a pizzeria. It was even better cold the next morning! Yum!

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly except for the bacon. I added no bacon and it was very good the first night. I do not think it froze well as the leftovers were not very good, but hey, if you can use up the recipe at one meal it is great!

Neiman Marcus Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
The first time I made this recipe I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used 2 cups of powdered sugar. Too sweet for me. So the second time I used 1 cup. Perfect. I also added 1 tsp of almond extract to the cream cheese and I put about a half cup of seedless raspberry jam into a sandwich bag. I cut the corner of the bag, piped the jam on top, swirled with a knife along the top to make it pretty. That was fantastic!!!!

Best Bruschetta Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Wow!!! Fantastic! I added 1 tbs balsamic vinegar and it was superb. I made it to use up the bounty of tomatoes from our garden. My son (12) asked for it as an after school snack and ate it all! Great recipe, thanks!

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Super Good, Super Healthy, Super Cheap! What more could you ask? My secret ingredient? I add one to two tablespoons of brown sugar OR maple syrup to the pot. Everyone raves and can't figure out what's different! lol, just don't add too much, leave it as a background flavor.
