About this Cook
I'm 28 and have been married for just over 5 years. I come from a family of healthy eaters who are big on veggies, chicken and fish. My husband comes from a dairy farm and his family is all meat, potatoes and creamy fattening foods! I'm always trying new recipes to try and compromise on our tastes... usually I win because I'M the cook!!!! :)
My favorite things to cook
So far my favorite thing to cook is pretty much anything on the BBQ grill. I love my food simple, and you can't beat the flavor when your food is grilled!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I making Christmas sugar cookies, backyard barbecues with my dad at the helm, and making tamales with my mom.
My cooking triumphs
So far I've been lucky. My parents are both great culinary influences and I rarely have botched a recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Once my best friend and I tried to make salt water taffy, and we didn't have any flavoring so we tried using powdered kool-aid! Needless to say, it was a disaster. But we had a lot of fun! I also tend to botch any and everything in a crock pot! I don't know why, I have the black touch I guess!!

Sarah's Applesauce
So good and SOOOO easy!!!! I make this all the time with all of the leftover ugly apples that don't get eaten. Leave the skins on for fiber & nutrition, no one will ever even know!!! Also, I use splenda & pumpkin pie spice in mine. Love it.

Stuffed Pepper Soup IV
Ok, I know you shouldn't really rate recipes when you change them, but these were rather minor tweaks because I was using what I had on hand and I had read a few other reviews. I really like this recipe a lot! It's even better the next day! What I changed was I used a large can of crushed tomatoes in place of the diced (all I had) and I think I like that a lot better. Since it was so tomatoey with that, I only used half the tomato sauce. Along with the spices indicated, I added a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce (because it makes everything better!!) and I added about a TBS or less of brown sugar. I really think the brown sugar really rounded out the flavor perfectly. Next time I make this (and there will be a next time!) I think I'll add another pepper, and maybe try quinoa in place of the rice. Can't hurt right?

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas
very good!!!! I thought I had green chils's (I always have those!!!) but I didn't. So I made do with a similar sized can of chile verde and I have to say it was a FANTASTIC substitution. Other than that, followed it to a T. Highly recommended. Oh, I used corn tortillas too... personal preference there.
