About this Cook
I'm 28 and have been married for just over 5 years. I come from a family of healthy eaters who are big on veggies, chicken and fish. My husband comes from a dairy farm and his family is all meat, potatoes and creamy fattening foods! I'm always trying new recipes to try and compromise on our tastes... usually I win because I'M the cook!!!! :)
My favorite things to cook
So far my favorite thing to cook is pretty much anything on the BBQ grill. I love my food simple, and you can't beat the flavor when your food is grilled!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I making Christmas sugar cookies, backyard barbecues with my dad at the helm, and making tamales with my mom.
My cooking triumphs
So far I've been lucky. My parents are both great culinary influences and I rarely have botched a recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Once my best friend and I tried to make salt water taffy, and we didn't have any flavoring so we tried using powdered kool-aid! Needless to say, it was a disaster. But we had a lot of fun! I also tend to botch any and everything in a crock pot! I don't know why, I have the black touch I guess!!

Fresh Rhubarb Pie
Awesome. Simple. Tasty as hell. I used 50% splenda and 50% sugar and it still tastes awesome. Make this pie! Make it NOW!!!! :)

Basic Ham and Bean Soup
I really liked this soup! It's different but good! I added some red potatoes and chicken broth per suggestions. And then I added a little cream to fool my husband into thinking it was more of a creamy soup. I also used canned beans to save time. It was better the next day! Very tasty and easy!
