Easy Masoor Daal

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
Very good recipe and I will be making it again. It was a bit dry so perhaps I need to make an adjustment on the water. I did throw in some garam masala on top of the other spices and the flavor was great.

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
Will be making this again! I used chicken and tofu and baked together. It did need a double recipe of sauce. Next time I will cut back on the butter as I felt guilty about eating it for that reason. Served with Easy Masoor Daal also on this site, peas and rice.

Pretty darn good! I don't think I will purchase a rub again when this can be whipped up so quickly.

Frosty Strawberry Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Made this as a birthday treat for my husband. It was a hit and my first attempt to whip egg whites (easy after all:). I did chunk the strawberries so they would be easier to eat when frozen. Perfect for a hot summer day.

California Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I was looking for a quick marinade and this was great since all the ingredients are items already in a kitchen. Amazing kabobs. We added grape toms and zucchini. Classic kabob flavor.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I made two of these one morn for a crowd. One was made with the original recipe (10 eggs and fresh grated potatoes on both) and the other with chorizo sausage and mont. jack. The bacon one disappeared and had much more flavor when I was thinking it would be the other way around. On my way to cook up another bacon dish for this weekend...great recipe.

Thai-Style Tilapia

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
I only gave this a four when ours was a five with help. I added the turmoric but added thai green curry paste (1 1/2 t.)and red curry powder (1/2 t.) and also a t. or two of fish sauce. I didnt have lemon grass so I added fresh lemon juice. Everything including the pepper flakes were put into the vitamix.

Kyle's Favorite Beef Stew

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Simply the most wonderful stew ever. I have made this in the slow cooker and pressure cooker. The only change I make is more wine :) and two cubes of beef bullion and some seasoning salt instead of the onion soup mix. It is a lot of steps but worth every one and there are only two pots used so clean-up is not all that bad. I use fingerling potatoes and mini carrots and sliced mushrooms so there is little cutting of veggies.

Caribbean-Spiced Roast Chicken

Wonderful aroma while baking and the flavor was great. The leftovers went into a chicken noodle soup! I will make this again but with cut up pieces in the slow cooker. My chicken was larger and took over two hours to bake at that temp.

Very moist and tasty. The sugar needs to be cut down, but other than that...perfect.

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

I was not sure we could pull this off sucessfully with the limited ingredients we had, but regular soy sauce and sweet thai chili sause worked great and we put it on a bed of baby spinach borrowing the idea of wraps from the other reviewer. Smelling like garlic is worth it for this one.

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
If I could kiss you, I would. This is the recipe I have been searching for!! There is a national brand that makes a 'fourty spice' hummus. I have been trying to find something that tastes like it and THIS is it. (It looks like it too.) I used a little less of the hot stuff, and used roasted garlic. It is perfect. Wow, the money I will save, and there is nothing unhealthy in it either. Thank you so very much!!!

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Easy and delish, my two favorite words when used together. The family said the smell remimded them of the spices in good pizza crust..which we love. I made enough so we would have leftovers and they were great as well. This one is a keeper!!

We had this after carving pumpkins so we were in the spirit for orange/fall things. It went perfect with toasted french bread and was even better the next day. We will definately have this again.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

I used one bag of dry beans soaked overnight and then pressure cooked. I doubled the other ingredients and used one can of coconut milk as recomended by another reviewer, but did also use veg. broth for the rest of the liquid. It was definately better the next day.

Cheater Pot Pie

I made this for the 1st time last night and added diced potatoes. It was great!! As far as the bisquit top, I divided them a little thicker then a layer and it was perfect. I was happy I had doubled the recipe. I used left-over grilled chicken...perfect.

Easy Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2004
I had fresh salmon in the fridge that had to be used today...so I checked this site. I happened to have zesty itilian in the cabinet and lime juice instead of lemon, and no mushrooms. I thought it was teriffic. I took one reviewers suggestion of melting cheddar on top. My kids loved it w/ peas and rice. What a quick easy meal.
