should have listened to the other reviewers about the chicken stuck to the pan. Ugliest meal ever but tasted okay.

Grilled Chicken Breast with Cucumber and Pepper Relish

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
My instincts told me this dish was going to be bland. I should have listened to myself -- or better yet, looked at the second page of reviews...Very bland. I had to add lime to the relish and salt. It looked pretty, tho, but definitely not a keeper for me.

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
this was pretty basic. i added a poblano, onion and garlic to the meat. i also spread the beans on the bottom of the dish rather than trying to put it over the meat. I wish I would have made rice and put that as a layer in there. I topped it with shredded lettuce, black olives, sc and cilantro

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
I followed other reader's advice and decreased salt to 1/2 tsp, increased BS to 3/4, used a scan 3 cups of oatmeal. I added cinnamon (1tsp) and a whole bag of chocolate chips. For half the recipe, I added raisins and pecans. Very yummy. however, today, the cookies are a little drier than I would like. I suggest you decrease the baking/cooling time some to your personal preference.

Plum and Ginger Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
I should have listened to the other reviewers who said it was too sweet! OMG. I could barely get it down. The first few bites were really good and then it went down from there. I added a touch more soy and siracha but that didn't help. I think the plum sauce is really sweet on its own. I've just never heard of using corn syrup in chinese, so I had to try it. I didn't even add the full half cup. Honestly, I don't see how 3/4 tsp of ginger could be too much as some said, but then again, people complain about a recipe being bland when it's got nothing but one ingredient by itself to add flavor?!?!!!! I added red bell, bean sprouts, onion and omitted mushrooms because I didn't have any...

Pineapple Scotchies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
These were cakelike, very tender and very, very sweet. Do not add extra butterscotch to them. One batch I added miniature chocolate chips and that was really good. the recipe was very easy to do and makes 4 sheets, 3 across. i cooked them on convection at 350 for 12 min. and let them sit for 1 as per the recipe instructions.

Beer and Brown Sugar Steak Marinade

This was pretty decent. I didn't have any dark beer and used regular and marinated for about 1.5 hours. Probably won't use it again, tho.

Spicy Southwestern Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
IMO this had no flavor at all. If you have small children, they would eat this. I halved the oil and still found it to be too much. 1 onion, diced - must have used too big of an onion. That's all I could taste. I added a bunch of reg. vinegar, a sprinling of chipotle powder and green onion and I still won't make it again. Sorry.

Hearty Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
I used 1 lg. yukon, parsnip, carrot, 2 stalks celery and I browned beef and cooked on high for several hours. I only had smoked paprika so I used that. I had no problem with liquid. Flavor was a little lacking, tho, as other raters pointed out. I stole a tip from a french beef stew and stirred in a tbs of Grey Poupon before serving and topped w/jack cheese. I would suggest adding a bit of beef Better than Boullion to it, too.

Very tasty. Here are my modifications based on everyone else. 1 can tom. plus 1 8oz sauce onion/garlic/green bell cooked down w/italian seasoning and sea salt- then added sausage Used dried spices v. fresh sprinkled a touch of garlic salt over the top while it simmered. I added the spices after 10 min. of simmering and used the baby seashell pasta Sprinkled w/fresh parmesan (not the out of the green can!) (-:

Pumpkin Spice Ring

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2004
This was a very moist cake. I tried to make a roll out of it and it split after being frosted. I added more pumpkin pie spice than called for. I'm not sure if it was the Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting from this site that I put on it that hid the pumpkin flavor, but the taste just died in your mouth after the first bite. BUT it was a very light dessert and perfect after a huge T-giving dinner

Turkey Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2004
Pretty good. I think it needed some chicken. i used Emeril's spice for the seasoning. Used 6 pressed garlic. It was done in 1/2 hr. vs. 40 to 45. If I left it that long, it would have burned. i topped w/a bit of monterrey jack. Serve it w/broccoli or carrots.

Lemon Pepper Shrimp with Mustard

Fantastic! I reduced the butter to margarine and cut by half, upped the wine a tad and added a bit more garlic. Yummmy! Served with a leek, broccoli & blackbeans mixed with a little italian seasoning and leftover spaghetti sauce.

Blueberry Boy Bait

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2004
This was pretty good. Don't know if it's worth 5 stars w/out modification -- lemon zest with blueberries and cinnamon added to topping. I've never made a "crust" with egg whites. Oh, when I started to make the crust, I accidentally switched salt with sugar! Good thing I decided to taste it -- yikes!

Ranger Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2004
I was shocked after I made these. One person said you could use unsweetened coconut so I did -because it was all I had on hand. Maybe I might try half a recipe with sweetened coconut. Sorry to be a dissenting view but these didn't taste that much like the ranger cookies I've tasted...
