Spinach and Rice (Spanakorizo)

Great side dish... I served it with Feta Chicken, also from this site and a salad with Greek dressing. It made a really nice dinner that the whole family enjoyed.

Easy Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2006
Thanks for this great recipe... the family loved it. I left out the ground beef and served it with chicken instead. I also added a little olive oil (about 2 T.) to the sauce just to enrich it and also cut the acidity. I simmered this for just one hour and it was perfect!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
Very good and easy casserole. The teenagers in our house loved it as is, but my husband and I would have preferred more spices. I added half a pack of taco seasoning along with the chili powder but it still had a very mild flavor. I'll add more seasonings next time I make it.

Chicken Katsu

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
I found panko breadcrumbs at a Wild Oats grocery store here in northeast Ohio. They are wonderful! Everything you fry turns out so light and crispy. The whole family loved this chicken. I served it with spicy Tonkatsu sauce (1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 c. ketchup, 2 T. light soy sauce) drizzled over and finely chopped green onion to garnish. We had steamed white rice and stir-fried veggies on the side. My boys asked when I'd make this dinner again... that's the sure sign of a winner! :)

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
This is a great summer salad. I also reduced the sugar to 1/4c.(I used wine vinegar and olive oil for the dressing) and added some sliced cucumbers to it. Really yummy! Next time I'm going to add feta or blue cheese. Thanks for a keeper!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
This is one fantastic chicken recipe... it comes out extremely moist and flavorful. Have done this recipe many different ways. You can use half a can of ginger ale if you're out of beer. I usually add some BBQ sauce to the half can of liquid, and rub spices (garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt) into the bird. Have made it on the grill but I really think the oven is easier. Just set the chicken in a 13x9 pan and bake in a 350 oven for about 1hr 30min. Comes out delicious every time!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
Very good chicken.... however, mine came out a little on the dry side, but the flavor was great. I mixed up extra spices so I think I'll use them on the beer butt chicken recipe from this site. That recipe produces an incredibly moist, flavorful bird.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
This really is a fantastic macaroni salad. I did use several suggestions made by other reviewers... I added an extra hard-boiled egg (4 total), I reduced the sugar to 1/2C.(will reduce to 1/4C. next time and see how we like it) and I added only 1/2 the dressing (used Miracle Whip)to begin with. After refrigerating the salad all day I took it out, gave it a good stir, and added about 1/4 of the remaining dressing. This was perfect and didn't make it too "soupy". I will make this salad often...thanks so much for the great recipe!

Ranch Oyster Crackers

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2006
Love these! This recipe is my favorite because only 1/4 c. oil is used vs. as much as 1 c. in other recipes. Last time I made them I was out of the ranch dressing mix, so I just used the spices and added some seasoned salt and pepper. They were great that way too!

Great recipe. I used apricot jello (w/sugar)and lite cool whip. Next time I'm going to try sugar free jello and fat free cool whip.... what a great, low-cal salad to have in my refrigerator all summer. Thanks for the post!

Very good recipe... loved the addition of garlic and lemon. I baked these at 250 for 2 hrs., drained them and baked for 1 more hr. w/ bbq sauce. Next time I'm going to try 225 for 3 hrs, just to see if I can get them more tender... mine still weren't falling off the bone!

Apple Spice Dump Cake

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
After reading the other reviews I decided to leave out most of the extra spices. I just sprinkled a little cinnamon and nutmeg over the canned apple filling before dumping the cake mix on top. Tasted great.... loved the toasted pecans on top. I'll make this often, it's so easy and delicious!
