I was born and raised in a typical southern family. My mother was an excellent cook and I learned a lot just by watching her in the kitchen. I've adapted her love of creating unique dishes to suit my tastes and have come up with many recipes that is sure to please.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking poultry, anything with beef, all types of vegetable dishes and desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always looked forward to my mother's turkey dressing during the holidays, as well as her wide variety of cookies and pies. It was also a tradition every year for her to make a pot of black-eyed peas that we would eat as a meal with cornbread and chow-chow.
My cooking triumphs
My first ever Thanksgiving away from the family. The turkey I made was the absolute best I'd ever had (I just don't tell my mom that).
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at making guacamole dip. I used a bit too much garlic in the recipe. You can kind of figure out the rest.
