Tuna From Can To Frying Pan

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This had a lot of flavor and was very easy to make! Thanks for the great idea. I did not add salt because the teriyaki sauce made it salty enough.

Christmas Egg Puff

This sounded boring to me but I ended up being surprised at how good it is! I made it just as written except that I omitted the butter.

Aunt Jewel's Chicken Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I thought this was very easy to make. I cut the chicken before I boiled it, rather than afterwards. This helped it to cook quicker. The flavor was ok--it was a little bland as some other reviewers mentioned. I will make this again, mostly because it is easy and it doesn't cost too much.

Chilled Tomato and Avocado Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
I made this just as written except that I only used 6 oz of yogurt. It turned out great, although visually it was very unappealing, as another reviewer mentioned. I really enjoyed the flavor, however.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
This is the best chili recipe I have made from this site so far, and I have been using this site for seven years. I made it exactly as written and wouldn't change a thing if I were to remake it. It was very easy to make and had a lot of flavor.

Barbarella's German Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These were okay, but they were difficult to make. Like another reviewer suggested, use a small pan to cook these in. If I make them again, I will cut the sugar in half.

Baked Spaghetti

This was great except that it was way too dry. I will make it again but with double the sauce. I made the recipe exactly as written except that I omitted the butter. Great flavor.

Best Beef and Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I made this exactly as written except that I used broccoli cheese soup instead of just plain broccoli soup because that's all I could find. There was definitely too much soy sauce and there was not enough broccoli. I will make this again, but with the above changes.

Creamy Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I loved this! I got four small bowls of this, so it is definitely a side dish. I chopped my broccoli up into very small pieces before I measured out 2.5 cups, so I definitely had enough broccoli. It actually turned out to be a very thick soup. I saw that other reviewers pureed their's, so I did the same with mine except that left about 1/2 cup of broccoli and onion chunks. I tasted the soup before I added the cheese and it was very good without cheese. I did add some seasonings to it (thyme, dill, celery seasoning).

Hot Curried Tuna Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
These tasted great! The only problem I had was that they were a little dry. I used sour cream instead of mayonnaise and I had to double it. I also used hamburger bun halves instead of English muffins and white onion instead of green. I will definitely make these again. They'll probably taste even better on English muffins!

Tuna Melt Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I was a little skeptical when I saw the measurements for this (3/4 cup celery and 1 whole onion seemed a little excessive), but it turned out perfectly! The only changes I made were: I used sour cream in stead of mayonnaise; I reduced the butter to 3 tbs.; I eliminated the salt; and I only got 5 sandwiches out of it. The flavor was great and I will definitly make it again. I've never used butter on a tuna sandwich recipe before, but it definitly added a lot of flavor to it!

Spaghetti With Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
Very good and flavorful. I cooked mine in the crock pot. The only change I made was to reduce the sugar to just a dash; I could still taste the sugar even with just a little bit in, so I can't imagine how sugary it would be if it were two whole teaspoons.

Easy Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
This was a good idea, but there is something wrong with the recipe measurements because it didn't turn out right for me. I think it was supposed to be 2 lbs. ground beef instead of 1. I only got 11 small enchiladas. There is no way 1 lb. of ground beef goes with 32 oz. salsa and 20 tortillas.

I omitted the margarine and threw everything in the crockpot on low. The flavor was very good for such a simple recipe. Thanks for the recipe.

Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
I really liked this. I did everything as written, except that I doubled the bacon and used turkey bacon. I'm glad I doubled the bacon, because it gave a little texture to the soup. I saw that other reviewers said it tasted more like potato soup, but to me, the pumpkin and nutmeg were the strongest flavors (I wish I had used a little less nutmeg). The servings sizes were decent.

Quick Spicy Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
This soup had a lot of flavor! It also took little prep time. I threw all my ingredients in the crock pot and let it cook over night. I used the whol can of tomato soup as other reviewers suggested (this gave it a very tomato-ey taste). I also added some italian seasoning, chili powder, oregano, and onion powder to give it more flavor. The servings were very large, making this more of an entree than a side dish.

Nigerian Peanut Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
The flavor was very strong and needed no added seasonings, so I would rate the taste 5 stars. But visually, this was unappetizing, and the texture was unpleasant. It didn't look like it would taste good and the soup itself was very thin. I would add more vegetables to it if I made it again.

Louisiana Sweet Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I really liked these! They do come out a little cakey, but I like them like that. I also took the advice of other reviewers and added vanilla, cinnamon, and 1 packet of artificial sweetener. The nutmeg was a little overwhelming and I couldn't taste the sweet potatoes, so I think next time I'll cut back on the nutmeg.

Easiest Eggplant

I used light sour cream instead of mayonnaise. I sliced it very thinly. I really liked the flavor and I liked the thinnest slices the best because they tasted like chips!
