Barley Salad With Almonds And Apricots

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
I like that this recipe is different than the types of foods I typically make, but I don't think it's delicious. It was good and a nice alternative, but I'm pretty sure I won't make it again.

This is a great one, especially if you follow the advice of others. I mixed the brown & white sugars, added 1 t. of vanilla & a 1/2 t. of cinnamon. This is great hot out of the oven with melted butter!

Crab Dip

This is OK, not great. It's MUCH better with green onions instead of the onion, I tried it both ways. Don't spend the money on fresh crab - I did and most of it wasn't eaten anyway.

This is a great recipe. My boyfriend especially liked it. I used "better than fresh" frozen orange roughy

This recipe is very good! I didn't have peanut oil so I used olive oil, but still great!

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2004
My dad & I made this together and we had such a great time! We rolled our crusts very thin and made 1 Margherita style with mozzarella, parmesean & fresh basil, the other was pineapple rings & ham. We made the sauce with olive oil, fresh garlic, 4 tomatoes & 1/2 an onion. We simmered it in a pan and added salt & fresh basil before topping the pizzas with it. We're making these again today for our house warming party!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2004
Delicious! The pieces of steak were so good right out of the pan, after they'd been fried that i must have eatten one third of them before I was done. I think regular beef stew, broth, beef & some vegies thrown together is still the best choice.

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2004
Once you've had a real bisque, this recipe loses it's luster. The first time I made it, which was several years ago, I loved it. BUT, now that I've had the 'real thing' many times since then, I made it again and... it was very thick and goopy. I agree that sherry is probably the way to go because the wine didn't seem to fit and there was too much of it. I did not add the crab, just shrimp, because of other user comments that said the textures didn't match. I will not make this recipe again and do not recommend it.

Saucy Chicken Cordon Bleu

Absolutely Fantastic! This was sooo YUMMY!!!! I am so glad I picked this recipe. I made it with red mashed potatoes and they were perfect together. This tasted even better as left overs the next day. I wasn't sure about the curry powder, but man, it really added a lot of flavor. I will make this again soon!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
I've been making this recipe for a few years now for the holidays - however, I became a vegetarian in January 06 and this will be my 4th holiday season without meat. I've made this recipe now about 8 times using Morning Star breakfast sausage patties and it is fantastic every time! I cooked the "sausage" in butter and chopped them up into pieces. It's an excellent alternative and tastes just as good! I did use extra butter to compensate for the loss of the sausage grease, used vegetable broth and omited the liver. Absolutley Awesome stuffing (even the vegetarian version!)

Libby's® Pumpkin Cheesecake

I followed the directions exactly, but it didn't cook all the way & didn't look very good. I made this for thanksgiving but no one wanted it. It didn't taste good either. I made this one because I had something similiar at the Cheesecake Factory, but this wasn't what I thought it would be.

This was really good! I love artichokes steamed and I really like roasted red peppers, but they didn't taste as good as I thought they would together. Still it's a great recipe! Thank you for offering it Eileen!

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2003
Yummy! This recipe is easy to make and very good. I used the canned crunchy noodles because I couldn't find the ones listed in the recipe. I also toasted some almond slices which was a very nice addition. I used iceburg lettuce, but next time I think I'll try with 1/2 iceburg 1/2 romaine. I think this recipe is better for eating at home, because the lettuce becomes transparent and limp after just a few minutes of contact with the dressing. But it tastes so good, we had it almost eaten before that happened!

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2003
I followed the recipe to the T and the chicken was wonderful. Very tender and juicy! I made these with "Grandmas green bean casserole" on this site and they were great together. Some of us dipped the chicken strips in bleu cheese dressing which was good. I will make this again because it's not expensive, not very messy and it's pretty easy, too. Thank you Janet S.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2003
I've made this recipe twice and both times it was excellent. The two times that I've made it, I left out the flour, used less salt, added pepper and the first time I used garlic, like some other's have suggested. The first time I thought I had done something wrong because the sour cream seemed to curdle, but I realized the second time around, that I think the flour serves a purpose: to prevent the curdle effect and to hold the ingredients together. I used Jack cheese and topped with the crunchy French's onions like others have suggested, I think really no matter how you make it or what you add or change, it's still basically green beans and sourcream and it's so so good! Thank you to Amy Barry for the great recipe.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2003
I think this recipe is really great. I really loved this recipe, and unlike others, I thought the chunkiness was nice. I think that 3 sliced leeks was too much for me, because even after they were cooked, they seemed stringy and tough. I added the amount of maybe 1 1/2 or 2 leeks, because after I sliced them, there seemed to be a lot! But, maybe I just had extra large leeks. The recipe is delicious and I plan to make it again, when it gets colder here.
