About this Cook
I am a single mom of 3 children; only 1 still lives at home. My oldest son is 24, my 2nd son is 22 and my daughter is 17. I discovered the passion for cooking about 10 years ago.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am 100% Dutch and my families cooking traditions, unfortunately, are very bland! So I am breaking alot of traditions and adding spice to my life!!!
My cooking triumphs
I made this awesome lady finger truffle that actually turned out like it was pictured and tasted awesome.
My cooking tragedies
When you experiment and you have no one to really learn from cooking tragedies do happen. I can't remember anything specific that is tramatic to me, thank goodness.

Pecan Turtle Bars
Also felt these were way too buttery (greasy) and that flavor over-powered the bars. Even with the added 1/2 cup flour that others suggested, it was too much butter. I couldn't even tell that there were pecans or carmel flavors that were supposed to a part of these bars. 2 stars given purely for the simple and easy recipe. I will definately adapt the concept and revamp the. I think I will use the crust from the Lemon Pie Bars recipe from this site.

Lemon Pie Bars
Fantastic bottom pastry! I agree about the filling being cut in half. Otherwise, the lemon filling overpowers the pastry bottom and you can't enjoy the bar as a whole.

Pumpkin Cheesecake II
Turned out great!! Definately bake in a water bath it kept my cheesecake from cracking. I also turned off the oven after 50 minutes and left in the oven for an hour to make sure it set and baked all the way thru. The only thing I added or changed was I made a carmel glaze to put on top and then put the whole and crushed pecans on top (like pictured). Carmel glaze was made from 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup whipping cream and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
