About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love making theme food. Like decorated cakes and cookies to go along with school projects for the kids or holiday food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love baking with my kids. Every year we make dozens of gingerbread cookies to decorate and hang on the Christmas tree. It takes us about a week but we enjoy the time together. We talk about our best decorated cookies from years past.
My cooking triumphs
I guess whenever I make something and people ask for the recipe that is a triumph. I've noticed that whenever I bring something to a party or family gathering, my husband and kids always go for my food first, that makes me feel good!
My cooking tragedies
I've been cooking a long time and so have had many cooking disasters. Most of them lately seem to involve the dog or cat eating a fresh baked batch of something that no one even got to try!!!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
I tried this recipe because it uses ingreds I always have. I made just 1/2 batch and it came out just fine. I made mini fondant roses, following a technique I found on cake central called duff roses. It was very easy.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II
This was good, I'd prob make it again. I diced my chicken and didnt read the directions very well because I added a can(from the soup) of milk instead of just 1/4 cup. But it turned out fine. Oh and I used cheddar as I was out of swiss.

Sugar Cream Pie I
I thought this was very good. It did take a long time to thicken. I used a 9" pie pan and it filled it nice and full. I refrigerated it overnight and it sliced nicely and held its shape. I would make this again.
