Tofu Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
Great recipe, thank you. I have made this recipe a couple of times and found the following changes to be useful: (1) I purchase the lasagna noodles that don't have to be pre-boiled. This saves on time and dish washing. (2) I use 1.5 to 2 jars of pasta sauce. This adds moiture and flavor to the recipe.

Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
Thick and creamy smoothie! The recipe turned out great. This is a healthy recipe with no added sugar. It is filling enough to replace a meal. I stayed full for about 4.5 hours after drinking two servings of the smoothie. It is grainy because of the kiwi and strawberry seeds, but I liked the added texture. The smoothie was creamy, but thin enough to drink through a standard size straw. I will probably make this again for my family.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
I was having a serious craving for chocolate pudding but was too lazy to go to the store. So I did a search on allrecipes and this recipe came up. Who knew pudding was SO EASY to make from scratch? It was ready in 5 minutes and the recipe calls for simple ingredients that are on hand in most kitchens. I used the "mocha powder" from Starbucks in lieu of cocoa powder and it was delicious!!! The pudding is thick, not too rich, and very creamy. I will never buy the boxed stuff again.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
Thanks for the recipe! These little guys are c-u-t-e! I made them for Christmas eve and everyone loved them. People kept taking pictures of them. Note that these are very time consuming to make. Get a friend or family member to help if possible. I added fresh minced garlic and a little tabasco to flavor them up. I also added fresh dill on top of the penguin for "hair." Even with these changes, they still aren't the best tasting appetizer, but they are so adorable that nobody cared.

Apple Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Very good recipe!!! I made these muffins for Christmas morning and everyone seemed to like them. I took the suggestions of other reviewers and added extra cinnamon and nutmeg (1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg in the batter and 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg in the topping). This worked out well, the muffins really did taste like apple pie (nobody touched the actual apple pie we bought). Thanks for the recipe!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Simple and easy recipe with ingredients that are readily on hand. The pancakes turned out light, fluffy, and tasty but were not extraordinary. I replaced the shortening with vegetable oil. I would probably use this recipe again.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
This recipe was pretty good, it wasn't as great as I was expecting based on the other reviews. On the good side, it is a fast and simple recipe and smells heavenly. On the bad side it is a bit mealy and doesn't look very pretty (turns a brownish color). The taste is good, but not great. I would recommend this recipe to sweet potatoe lovers that like a sweetened dish but I will not make this recipe again for us.

Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
Versatile and tasty recipe! But I followed the recipe precisely, and the onions charred (perhaps because I used the toaster oven?). I will definitely make this recipe again, but possibly add the onions halfway through cooking or chop the onions into larger chuncks.

French Spring Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
Decent but overrated! I followed the recipe precisely, and the soup turned out very bland with mushy potatoes. The cream seems like an unnecessarily unhealthy ingredient; perhaps a healthier replacement would improve the recipe. When reheating leftovers, I added vegetable bouillon cubes which resulted in a much tastier soup. However, I will not be making this recipe again.

Argentine Lentil Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This Argentine lentil stew is surprisingly delicious!!! I followed the recipe precisely and the stew turned out great! The ingredients combined very well. The lentils are soft while the vegetables (and apples) remain slightly crisp. The stew is a little spicy, a little sweet, and very filling; a perfect meal for the cold winter nights. I am very pleased with this recipe and it will definitely become a regular meal in my home. This is the best recipe I have found on allrecipes.com, I would rate it a 10 if possible!

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna

Excellent recipe! Simple and delicious. I used the lasagna noodles that don't have to be pre-boiled to shorten prep time. I also added a can of diced tomatoes. The lasagna was moist and perfect, all of my guests loved it.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
These cookies taste delicious. But after a few days of eating them, my husand and I both realized that they were upsetting our stomachs because of the dry oats (minimal moisture in the recipe). I will not make them again for this reason.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
Good french toast recipe that is easy to modify to your personal taste. I used a whole grain bread and it was delicious. I added a little brown sugar to the egg mixture and I cooked it in butter instead of oil (personal preference). I also used the pan lid while cooking as other reviewers suggested.

Summer Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2006
The BEST potato salad I've ever tasted. Much lighter tasting and more flavorful than traditional potato salad. My picky husband loved it too. I added black olives and ground red pepper - delicious!!! If you love the taste of lemon, this recipe is a must-try.

Excellent recipe, thank you for sharing! I added a bit of milk to thin out the sauce. It was delicious with ice cream. I have also drizzled the shell sauce over home made coffee cheesecake and it was delicious. Yummy!
