Stuffed French Toast I

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Great recipe! I combined the orange marmalade with the cream cheese before stuffing the french toast. The Irish Cream did not make the french toast taste like alcohol, rather it added a nice flavor dimension to the dish.

Bean Quesadillas

Good recipe, but could use some cumin and/or red pepper. Also, our tortillas turned out soggy from all of the oil and the heavy filling. Next time we will omit the oil or use Pam.

Tasty and very easy to make. I used an Italian herb feta cheese for extra flavor.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Great baked potato soup made with ingredients that are readily on hand. I made a vegetarian version by omitting the bacon (using a little oil instead) and substituting a high quality vegetable broth for the chicken broth. This made a hearty and filling dinner that is perfect for winter.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This recipe results in a classic tasting deviled egg with a bit of zing. Absolutely wonderful! I will be using this recipe in lieu of the recipe I have been using for years.

Candy Cane Cocoa

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This recipe is a must try, you won't regret it. As another reviewer put it - better than Starbucks! I thought this would taste too minty, but the candy cane flavor was actually nicely mild. The candy cane melts very quickly and thickens the hot cocoa. 2% milk worked great. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Wow!!! This is an awesome recipe. I like things really flavorful so I used 1.5 times all spices. Delicious and good texture. I will use this recipe again and again, thanks!!!

Vegetarian Stuffing

I am sorry to be in the minority here, but I didn't care for this recipe. It tasted like bread soaked in mushroom soup - I know, what did I expect? I followed the recipe exactly and added optionals of fresh mushrooms, cranberries, and fresh celery.

TOO MUCH SALT! I love salt, and this was way too much for me. The underlying flavor was really good though. I will try not adding any salt next time.

Apple Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Tasty flavor combination and very easy to make. I would have never thought of this flavor combo. These bruschetta definitely taste best right out of the oven. The apples on my first batch started to brown a bit after sitting for 30 minutes. For my second batch, I did a quick rinse of the apples in lemon water (1/2 lemon juice squeezed into large bowl of water) - no browning and the flavor did not change. Thanks for the recipe.

Tuna Fish Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
I followed the recipe precisely except cut the mayo in half (based on other reviews). 1/2 cup would have been way too much mayo. My husband liked the tuna salad but didn't care for the lemon in it. For myself I made the same recipe but substituted hard boiled eggs for the tuna. The recipe makes a good egg salad too.

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
My husband loves sweet potatoes, but I hate them and have been searching for a recipe to make them palatable to me. This is it! I ate every last bite. This yields a savory flavor combination of sweet and salty. I only had to bake them for 30 minutes.
