I love these! I usually think that cake mix is pretty gross, but my step mother made these for years before I ever knew that they were made from a box mix. If you like nuts and dates you should really try them.

This is really good! Based on other reviews I sautéed my onion, left out the milk, and only put half the brown sugar in the glaze (next time I may just leave it out). I used an 85/15 ground beef and it was still very moist so I won't hesitate to use ground sirloin next time to try to cut some of the fat. Thanks for the recipe!

I'm sure that it is my fault that this turned out poorly but I thought I should share my notes just in case someone else could avoid my mistakes. First, the texture was bad. I used a hand mixer and I probably should have used a spoon. Maybe these need a really light hand. I also used a store brand Splenda. I am new to cooking with artificial sweeteners. Maybe that had something to do with the problem as well? I didn't think this was very flavorful either. Next time if I try it again I will increase the spices.
