My mother taught me to cook 40 years ago when I was a teenager. She was a no frizzle home cook. My style is the same. Simple food, done good. I enjoy making desserts, but I find just cooking anything is relaxing. Every Christmas I have to make banquet. I missed 1 year and my brother-in-law was disappointed. Every year since then I make sure he gets own piece. I've been cooking since I was a teenager and my biggest triumph came just a year ago when I made appetizers for 200+ people for a reception at my church. I accidentally used corn starch in place of powdered sugar to frost a cake. The cake was 1/2 frosted before I realized what was wrong.
