About this Cook
My mother taught me to cook 40 years ago when I was a teenager. She was a no frizzle home cook. My style is the same. Simple food, done good.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making desserts, but I find just cooking anything is relaxing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas I have to make banquet. I missed 1 year and my brother-in-law was disappointed. Every year since then I make sure he gets own piece.
My cooking triumphs
I've been cooking since I was a teenager and my biggest triumph came just a year ago when I made appetizers for 200+ people for a reception at my church.
My cooking tragedies
I accidentally used corn starch in place of powdered sugar to frost a cake. The cake was 1/2 frosted before I realized what was wrong.

Fresh Pear Pie
Great pie. Took it to friends house and they weren't sure if they wanted to try it. After the first bit they were surprised how good it was. Will make this again.

Indian Relish
I've made this several times with rave reviews. While still warm I add 8oz of cream cheese. This weekend I made it for the Bishop when he came to visit our parish and he commented on how wonderful it is. Thanks for sharing.

Jamie's Minestrone
I changed this to serve 40 people so I could served it for an event at church. RAVE reviews. Heard comments that this was better than what is served at that GARDEN restaurant. Will make this again.
