About this Cook
I enjoy cooking and try my best to make healthy low fat meals. I am a nurse and try to keep my weight in check.
My favorite things to cook
Love to make soups and anything with lots of veggies in it. I often add more veggies than the recipe says. I think you also need a treat and so I try to do baking as well. Love the health nut muffins
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't have a lot of traditional dishes I make I am always trying something new. Guess thats my tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I make pastry really well so my pie is very good.
My cooking tragedies
I cant really think of any tragedies. I have made lots of things I would not make again but that isnt exactly a tragedy.

Beef Pot Roast
I followed the instructions exactly and found the meat tough. I cook the exact same piece of meat in the slow cooker and it is always perfect and tender. I tried this because I did not have time for the slow cooker but I think I am back to slow cooking. There was plenty of liquid produced by the meat and the gravy was excellent. Did not need to add liquid.

Chocolate Banana Bread
I thought this bread was good but a bit to dense and heavy for my liking. I found it didn't rise a lot and found looking at pictures a lot of people had the same experience. It is definitely a good combo of banana and chocolate though. When I have made chocolate zucchini all you taste is chocolate where here there is definitely lots of banana flavor. Think all in all I like plain banana bread better. Thanks anyway.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
Wow!! This is a great recipe. I added a tsp of baking powder whicI I think made the texture of the cake perfect and made the crumb topping as suggested by another reviewer. I have made a lot of banana bread in my life and this is the best. I have two standard loaf pans and it wasn't big enough to hold the batter so that was a problem. I over filled the pans and some of the batter spilled out. The crumb topping didn't look great as a result but hubby thought this was the best part. Anyway will be making this again for sure.
