Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
4 stars only because I did take the advice of some other reviews and add a few things for extra flavor. I used one giant elephant clove of garlic, 1 onion, 1/2 head cabbage and 1 package of Zesty Italian dressing mix. Cooked on low heat for about 8 hours.

Runzas (Bierocks)

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2010
Outstanding base recipe. 4 stars only because I think on its own it may be a bit bland. I used hot italian sausage, 1/2 onion, 1/2 head cabbage, 2 large cooked carrots, colby jack cheese and 1 pack of gravy mix; browned the meat, cabbage, onion, and carrots then added the gravy mix and 1 cup water. I also used the Rhodes frozen rolls; thawed them but did not let them rise. Rolled them out and put 2 spoons of meat mix and pinch of cheese in ach roll. Baked at 350 for about 10 minutes on each side. The in-laws loved these and they are a great way to use up excess pot roast veggies. Thanks.

Spinach and Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This recipe was very very good. I'm giving it four stars since I did make a few changes to kick up the flavor. I added 3/4 of an onion, 4 cloves of garlic and substituted chicken broth for the wine. My husband went back for seconds and said it was "Lip smackin' good!" We will definately make again. Thanks for sharing.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

I am new to the fish-eating world and am constantly looking for fresh ideas for fixing Salmon. This recipe was amazing. The fish flaked apart and had a wonderful flavor. My husband, a long time fish eater, scarfed down two pieces in no time. Thanks for the wonderful recipe, will make again and again.

Way too salty! Flavor was good but completely overpowered by the salt. Will make again but omit the Ranch dressing mix.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Making this dough for the second time tonight. Last time the whole pizza disappeared! Crust is not too thin and not too thick. I followed others' advice and added a tsp of garlic powder and 1/2 tsp italian seasoning before letting the dough rise in a warmed oven. I also waited to add the salt until the dough had risen for 30 min. Great recipe!

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
Amazing! I added a tbs of hot sauce as suggested by other users and then simmered the glaze for a gravy after the roast was done. This was moist, tender and very flavorful. Everyone from my picky sister to my hispanic brother-in-law to my eat-anything man enjoyed this dish!

Kicky Steak Strips with Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This recipe, with no changes, is a good start. With some changes, it is by far a 5 star winner. I used only 1/4 cup Worc. Sauce, 1/4 cup tamari soy, 2 tablespoons minced garlic, 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper, 2 tablespoons Boetje's stone ground mustard, 1/2 cup olive oil. Blend all ingredients in blender till smooth. Put steak, or chicken, strips in ziploc with marinade and pop in the fridge for as long as you like; i did mine for 3 hours and it was wonderful!!!! Saute some yellow and red peppers along with 2 yellow or white onions and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic in a little olive oil until tender crisp. remove veggies and saute strips for about 6 min. total. remove meat and add leftover marinade, boil for at least 5 min. Serve everything over long grain white or brown rice. Delicious!!!!

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
WOW!! We added turkey kielbasa, fresh spinach and lots of extra garlic and this turned out fantastic!!! We used a whole carton of chicken broth and 4 small fresh tomatoes to enhance the flavor as well. This dish requires some time if you choose to use fresh ingredients but is well worth it. Will add to our favorites list!

I cheated! I used a jar of alfredo sauce and added the sauted zucchini and onion. I also added some habanero peppers and whoa was that a system shocker. It was delish but very spicy.

We did not care for the spices in this recipe but the basic soup stock was a good base/starting point. Will try again with other spices.

Gnocchi with Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
I'm rating this recipe at only 4 stars, not because it didn't turn out amazing, but because I made some changes that I thought took it to 5 stars. I used a red sweet bell pepper in place of the yellow, I added two cloves of roasted garlic, 2 small sweet onions, a tablespoon of dried parsley and a tsp of dried oregano to the sauted zucchini. When the dish was complete I topped it with black pepper and parmesean cheese. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!

This was amazing!!!! The dish has a wonderful cheese and garlic taste but doesn't distract from the wonderful natural taste of the zucchini. This is a keeper!!!

Supreme Strawberry Topping

This was easy to make and came out with a nice consistancy but I didn't care for the vanilla flavoring, it made it taste like store bought strawberry glaze. Will make again minus the vanilla.
