About this Cook
As a kid growing up, my mom never really cooked anything unless it came out of a box and boiling water needed to be added :) I was always very interested in anything to do with the kitchen and started packing my dads lunches at 3 or 4 years old. I remember packing raw potato sandwiches, and my dad coming home telling me how wonderful the food was! I began experimenting with meals in high school and have loved cooking ever since. I love trying new recipes and new cooking methods.
My favorite things to cook
Anything revolving around breakfast. I enjoy making carrot cake, chicken noodle soup...any type of comfort food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There were never really any cooking "traditions" in my family when I was growing up. I decided I needed to learn a few good recipes to begin my own traditions so my husband and I can pass them along to our children.
My cooking triumphs
Perfecting breakfast! When I was dating my husband, I was embarrassed when he once asked me to fry an egg, sunny side up. Now, making breakfast is one of my favorites.
My cooking tragedies
I once baked a cake for my office and after tasting it at work I realized it tasted very oily. I discovered I forgot to add the eggs! I also once took devilled eggs to a family get together and I sliced them the wrong way. My family could not stop laughing when I told them I couldn't figure out why they were leaning over to the side and wouldnt sit right!

Arancini
This was delicious! I followed the directions to the T, omitting the peas and ham. I was nervous as it sounded difficult to do, but they turned out beautifully! Next time, I will cool the risotto in the fridge a bit before forming into balls and make them more "bite size" as I read to be traditional. Thanks for sharing the great recipe!!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
This cake was AWESOME! Very, very tasty and easy to make. I topped with raspberry and chopped mangos.

Mexican Bean and Rice Salad
I followed this recipe to the T, only omitting the jalapenos. It was missing something...maybe more lime juice. Maybe needs the addition of tomatoes?
