I'm just an average Jersey City girl with a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls. My grandmother is Puerto Rican, so I've learned alot about Puerto Rican cuisine from her. My favorite things are the desserts, especially flan and rice pudding! During the holidays, my grandmother, my mother, myself, and a few other female relatives get together and have a pastele making party! Pasteles are very time consuming to make, so the more people we have around, the quicker they get done. For my daughter's 2nd birthday, I made macaroni and cheesee from scratch, potato salad, and grilled mouth watering ribs and burgers. Everyone complimented me for the wonderful job I did! When I was 12, I prepared a cake using a cake mix. I misread the instructions. Instead of adding 1 1/3 cups of milk, I added 11 1/3 cups! Needless to say, the cake was a complete disaster.
