About this Cook
I'm a kindergarten teacher in the Los Angeles area. I've taught kgn for 18 years.
My favorite things to cook
I love soup, especially during the Winter. A good hot bowl of hearty soup and my sweet cornbread...it doesn't get any better.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We are chicken people. I love chicken! My mother and I discuss what we are cooking several times a week. She's the best cook I know.
My cooking triumphs
I make a good gumbo chock full of chicken, shrimp, hot links and crab.

Peanut Butter Heaven
This is a tasty recipe! I liked the heartiness of the bar. The oatmeal and the peanut butter made a great combination. I also found them to be too thick. I had to cook them about 40 min. Next time I will bake it in a jelly roll so that it will not be too thick. Delicious!

Oatmeal Pancakes II
I tried this recipe when I had overnight guests staying with me. We all enjoyed them. I wished that I had doubled the recipes as it only made 9 medium sized pancakes. One guest said they had such a full bodied flavor. I couldn't agree more. I will definitely make these again and again.

French Toast Casserole
Mmmmmmm! This was delicious! I also added chopped pecans to the mixture before I poured it over the bread and put a few more on top. I cut down on the sugar by substituting Splenda for the sugar that was mixed into the egg mixture. I still used the sugar on the top to get the crunchiness. I will make this often.
