Sweeter Muffins

I was about to submit this recipe. I made this for the first time when I was in the 7th grade, Home Ec class. They even have the same name. I've made them for 40 years now. They have always been a family favorite.

Brunch Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Very good. I cut the recipe in half, but added a bit more milk and one more egg so that I had enough sauce to cover tortilla's. I covered with foil for the first 50 minutes then added cheese and baked another few minutes. It was very good...thanks

Best Burger Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This was really good. I cut this recipe way down for 6 servings. It had weird measurements, so I kind of guessed, but it turned out really good. Will probably not put in the vinegar next time. I don't think it was needed with the yellow mustard. I added a little horseradish and chopped dill pickle also. We put it on salmon burgers and it was great. I'm a huge fan of In and Out burgers and look forward to traveling to CA and Vegas just to eat them. This sauce is good, but don't think it was as good as their sauce. Still a keeper though. Thanks

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
Sorry these didn't float my boat. I added chocolate chips and frosting. I think without these, it would have been really awful. I don't think I'll make these again. Very dry! I just got a call from my son. I made these for his poker game last night and he said they were "great". All the guys loved them. Based on that I'll change my rating to 4 stars. I'm sure I'll be making them again. Thanks

Oh mama were these ribs great. I made them as directed to a T and they were wonderful. The BBQ sauce was really good. This was a hit at my son's Birthday dinner we had last night.

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
My son made these last night. He didn't seed them. He spread cream cheese on them, wrapped in bacon and put them on the grill. I was afraid to eat them with the seeds, but ended up eating 4 of them myself. They weren't as hot as I thought they would be. Another good way to eat these is to slice and seed them and put peanut butter inside of them. Believe me that's also very good. You don't have to bake or grill them. The bacon wrapped ones are still the best.

Caramel Frosting I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Really good. I doubled the recipe and put it on the Fresh Apple Cake III on this site. I used my hand held mixer and beat it while still in the pan I used to boil it. I just poured it on top of the cake while the frosting was stilll quite hot. I didn't let it cool long at all...pretty much boiled it, beat it and poured it. It set up really pretty....and fast. Tasted good. The only person who didn't like it was my son, so gave it a 4 because not everyone loved it. May use it again because I did like it and liked how it looked on the cake. Thanks

Fresh Apple Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This was a good cake. I used 3/4 c. of oil and about 1 cup of applesauce. I also added about a teaspoon of cinnamon ot the dry ingred. I used 3 apples, 2 granny smith's and one gala. My biggest problem was the bake time seemed to be WAY OFF. I kept adding 5 minutes so many times I lost track of the total time it took to bake this cake. I would say close to 60 minutes though. I thought maybe I should up the temp to 350, but just kept checking it every 5 minutes. The edges browned first but the middle seemed to take forever to bake. I took it to a New Year's party and everyone liked it but my son. I frosted it with carmel frosting I. I don't know if I will make it again. Might try another recipe and see which is better. Not a bad cake though once you can get it baked.

Mini Cheesecakes

Fast, easy and tasty. Made as directed, but used a mixture of graham cracker crumbs and vanilla wafer's. I had them both, so used them. Did find that I had a lot of leftover cherry pie filling. I used it the next day in a jello salad, so it didn't go to waste.

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Very good. I used both a large baking potato and smaller potato's and I think we liked the smaller one's better. Easier to eat and they didn't break apart like some of the bigger one's did. I made them up ahead...baked the potato's scooped out the potato, seasoned them and baked them again. I then let them cool and put them in fridge. Right before I served them, popped them into the oven to heat them up a bit, then filled with the cheese and other goodies, and back into the oven. They turned out really good. I bet they would be great with chili in them for superbowl. Will make them again I'm sure.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Wonderful....used my bread machine and they were a HIT! They were really light. Pretty much made as directed, but for the filling I used both brown and white sugar, butter and cinnamon. I don't measure, just spread until I think I have enough. I didn't use the frosting....The best frosting is the one used for the clone a cinnabon. Will make these many times I'm sure. May be the best recipe I've tried from this site.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I made these yesterday and was a bit disappointed in them. They were sure a lot of work, and we didn't find them to be the "hit" that so many others did. I used turkey bacon, made them the night before like others suggested and baked them then put into a crock pot to keep warm. The brown sugar seemed to disappear and these weren't that sweet. I'm sure I won't be making these again anytime soon.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Good. I doubled the recipe. I rolled them into balls sprinkled them with red sugar then put a Hershey Kiss on top of them after they baked. Peanut butter and chocolate is a win win! One more thing...these freeze really well. I wasn't sure with the kiss, but we just took some out of the freezer and they were great! I always freeze cookies.

Yum...Made as written, but mixed some sugar and red sugar on a plate and rolled them in that....it's Christmas time! We just had some with a cup of tea on a cold day. Will make these again. I put half in the freezer so we can have them next week. I always freeze cookies to have them on hand when my son comes over.
