About this Cook
I'm retired from the US Navy. I'm now living in NC and spend A LOT of time with my two grand babies, Chase 3, and Jordan 22 months,. I keep Jordan about 3-4 days a week when her Mom is at work. I love to scrapbook and have been doing genealogy for over 15 years. I play golf, love to shop and adore dogs.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake more then just about anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family has always loved grilled cheese and home made chocolate shakes. We used to have them most Sunday nights. My Mom hated it, but always made it for us. Now when we go home for a visit on one night it is something we always have to have. Funny how the little things are always the best things.
My cooking tragedies
My husband and I moved to FL and bought a house that had fruit trees. It was August and the fruit was dark green. I thought we had lime trees, so picked the limes and made some lime-aide. It was awful. The lady who we bought the house from moved to one accross the street from us. While I was out walking my dogs I asked her when the limes would be ready to pick. She said that there weren't any lime trees in the yard....only orange trees. When I told her what I did, she said, "oh honey, I hope you used lots of sugar."

Sweeter Muffins
I was about to submit this recipe. I made this for the first time when I was in the 7th grade, Home Ec class. They even have the same name. I've made them for 40 years now. They have always been a family favorite.

Brunch Enchiladas
Very good. I cut the recipe in half, but added a bit more milk and one more egg so that I had enough sauce to cover tortilla's. I covered with foil for the first 50 minutes then added cheese and baked another few minutes. It was very good...thanks

Best Burger Sauce
This was really good. I cut this recipe way down for 6 servings. It had weird measurements, so I kind of guessed, but it turned out really good. Will probably not put in the vinegar next time. I don't think it was needed with the yellow mustard. I added a little horseradish and chopped dill pickle also. We put it on salmon burgers and it was great. I'm a huge fan of In and Out burgers and look forward to traveling to CA and Vegas just to eat them. This sauce is good, but don't think it was as good as their sauce. Still a keeper though. Thanks
