Pappardelle Puttanesca

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Very easy, excellent taste. Great side dish for any number of things. I served it with baked chicken. I didn't have anchovy stuffed olives so I used green olives but will make it next time as written. I only used one 14 oz can of tomatoes and served it over 1/2 pound of angel hair pasta. I used the quantities of all other ingredients as written. Nice and garlicy.

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
I was looking for something easy for a last minute dessert and this came out great. I used frozen blueberries and frozen tart cherries that I had in the freezer. I also added finely chopped pecans to the oat mixture. It was a big hit with everyone, served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Pepper and Salsa Cod

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was totally tasteless. I used cod with my favorite salsa, seasoned with garlic pepper and even added mushrooms and asparagus on top of the bell peppers which ended up being the only saving grace.

Pan Fried Halibut Steak with Light Green Sauce

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
Excellent recipe. In a separate pan I sauted mushrooms & garlic in butter, then added that to the sauce before spooning it over the fish. Delicious.

Pork and Veggie Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
Delicious. I used all the ingredients listed but in different forms as noted so I wouldn't have to go to the store: 1 whole bag of Kroger brand frozen seasoning veggies that includes carrots, onions & celery, 1 can Rotel tomatoes that already has green chilis, plus a container of fresh pico de gallo I had in the fridge. I also used beef stock instead of water and bouillon and increased it to 4 cups. Served it with rice. Will definitely make again.

Mom's Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This is the best meatloaf recipe I've tried. Flavorful and moist. Like others, I decreased the brown sugar by half, and added extra Worcestershire sauce and about 2 tbs prepared yellow mustard to the sauce.

Roasted Asparagus and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This was an excellent recipe. Easy and tasty. My asparagus was very skinny so it was a little overdone. I should have cooked the mushrooms for awhile then added the asparagus. I will make this again.

Amazing Pork Chops in Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
My family enjoyed this recipe. I wanted a recipe that did not call for Cream of Mushroom soup, but honestly, it didn't taste any different than when I do use cr of mushroom. It still deserves 4 stars because whether you make your sauce from scratch or used canned soup its a great way to cook pork chops.

Chocolate Delight

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
I made this for Christmas Eve and it was gone! I used Kaluha for the liqueur and a premium toffee made by a local candy company. I would recommend using the best toffee you can find locally. Delicious and attractive for special occasions.

Easy Flat Iron Steak in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This was an excellent steak recipe. The only thing I did differently was after rubbing the spice mixture all over the steak, I put it in a plastic bag and added about 1/4 - 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar since I thought it needed some acidity for the marinade. I marinated for 3 hours. It was delicious and tender.

I wanted to try a new quiche but broccoli just didn't add a good texture. I will not use this recipe again.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
Good quiche recipe. The crust stuck to the glass pie pan when serving so I would recommend greasing and flouring the pan before baking the shell. I used 8 slices bacon, 4 eggs and half & Half instead of milk.

Perfect Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I've always wanted to successfully pan fry a steak and flat iron is the cut to make that possible. This marinade is very good. I cooked it at least 6 - 8 minutes per side because it was totally raw in the middle after 4 minutes per side. I did not let it come to room temp before cooking which probably had a lot to do with length of cooking time. It came out juicy and pink in the center after 6 - 8 minutes. I will use this recipe again.

Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
This turned out fantastic. I used thick sliced bread and Half & Half instead of milk because it was in the fridge. As others commented it took much longer than 25 minutes to cook. Just a note, I researched scalding milk and discovered that it is unnecessary. It was something that needed to be done before the pasteurization of milk. It was a process used to kill bacteria.

Best Ever Crab Cakes

Very good crab cakes. No crackers on hand so I used Italian bread crumbs instead. I doubled the recipe and made 6 crabcakes which three average size adults consumed without problem together with steamed asparagus and salad.
