I can hardly believe that I'm 55 and YiaYia to adorable 3 yr. old triplets, but I am! I also have a daughter, 31 (who comes with a great husband), a son, 20, a step-son and daughter-in-law. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 31 years. He recently retired, so we're starting all over again! I love to travel and take every opportunity I can to do so. I've also learned to knit this year and I'm enjoying that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook for family and company, and really go all out! The day to day stuff is okay, and I try to make it interesting (who doesn't?), but I think I really shine for special occasions. Our daughter lives in Greece with her husband, so I'm becoming familiar with Mediterranean cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
You'd think that after 31 years of marriage, we'd have some traditions, but not so much. I just enjoy trying new recipes and developing new skills and springing the results on my family.
My cooking triumphs
When our son was in high school he had a dinner party at our house for 4 couples before Winter Formal. My husband and I were the cooks and waitstaff. It was so much fun! The first year we served a light tomato soup with puff pastry croutons, caesar salad, roast pork, glazed carrots and rice pilaf - mini chocolate lava cakes were served for dessert. The kids loved it so much that they asked to repeat the following year - we had caesar salad, prime rib, glazed carrots (popular veggie here!), garlic mashed potatoes and chocolate mousse for dessert. Fun times!
My cooking tragedies
Oh - there have been many!! Hard, flat loaves of bread, greasy soup, too-hot chili, charred pizzas......
