Broccoli Cheese Soup

Perfect soup... used real shredded cheddar instead of velveeta cause I don't like fake cheese.

Four-Cheese Macaroni

I added a bit of dehydrated onions to the sauce while it was cooking, instead of using fresh, since I was out. I also used more cheese instead of the topping. This was great! I will be making again.

Instead of the cumin, chili powder and salt, I used taco seasoning mix just bc I had a ton in the pantry. Otherwise I made it exactly as stated and it was awesome! Served it with sour cream, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos. Have been looking for a good Mexican casserole and this is definitely it! Doubled the recipe and ended up with 3 regular pie plates enabling me to share one with a neighbor. Will make regularly!

Thirty Minute Yellow Cake

I added one egg after reading reviews. Also used all purpose flour and added 3 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt. Made perfect cupcakes and I will never look for another yellow cake recipe.

Awesome basic recipe that you can doctor up if you wish, or just keep it simple. I used olive oil instead of butter to be a tiny bit more healthy.

It's Chili by George!!

I don't usually like chili but my husband does so I wanted to find a good one. Also, I signed up to take a crockpot full to a social function. I made this for 25 servings, based on the calculate tool, and it was awesome. The only thing I changed was to substitute two cans of rotel for one large can of tomato sauce, because I didn't have quite enough. I made half in the crockpot and half on the stove. Usually chili is too thick to me, but this is the perfect consistency. Perfect with sour cream and cheddar cheese. Made SO much, but I froze some for another night.

Taco Pies

This would have been a great recipe IF it had specified to add taco seasoning to the meat... which I did. And if it told you to make a pie crust from scratch, to which you add no sugar. It's strange with a sweet crust, which I guess all store-bought ones are since I had Pet-Ritz, a leading brand.

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

This is so awesome! I made the recipe for Quick and Easy Pizza Crust instead of buying it pre-made. The only other thing I did differently was to bake the crust for 15 mins prior to putting the sausage on it. I then baked the entire thing an add'l 20 mins and it was perfect.

Kettle Corn

This is awesome! I only give it a 4 instead of 5 bc it doesn't call for salt, and I can't imagine it without salt! I used grated sea salt and sprinkled it over right when it came out... maybe a teaspoon full. It's the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Only bad thing is that I'll have to make this every day.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

This rice pudding is PERFECT! I made it exactly as the recipe said. It so creamy and delicious and I even used low-fat milk to cut calories. It's to die for if you eat it warm. I've tried different recipes, but nothing can compare... especially not the baked ones.

Banana Bread I

I've tried so many different banana bread recipes over the years, and this is the best. Will never make another! The only thing I did differently was added a 4th banana and decreased the sugar to 3/4 cup, and added walnuts.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

These are the best pancakes. They are really egg-y, as opposed to flour-y, which I like... kind of like Perkins or IHOP's pancakes. I used to make Alton Brown's pancake recipe from Good Eats on the Food Network, but these are even better and less work!

Mother's Applesauce Cake

This is a great cake - not too sweet! I left out the raisins and dates and added an extra cup of walnuts instead. I also omitted the frosting. I'm sure it would have been good, but was also wonderful without, and a lot less fat!
