Blueberry Liquor

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
It sure takes a long time but very good. I forgot about it at 3 months so at 4 I mashed out the blueberries through the cheesecloth and added the cooled simple syrup and am drinking it now. I wanted it for Christmas darn it and we're not waiting anymore. Our neighbors loved it and want the recipe. I plan on starting another batch and trying some with raspberries or a mixed berry. I only wish I had made more to give for gifts. Don't wait, start now!

Crabmeat Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
This was really good. I didn't have any green onions so used a red and a can of crab (I'm landlocked, not much good seafood, but otherwise followed recipe would have been better with green and regular crab I think). I used a homemade crust and prebaked 5 min. I think a little longer would have been better. I resisted the urge to use one more egg and it filled an 8 inch pan just right. Very yummy. I ate 1/3 myself and froze the rest for lunches. Will definitely make again.

Grilled Salmon with Curried Peach Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Great recipe that my daughter shared with me. She uses canned peaches, she had it on hand. It would work well with Mango or pineapple too I think. I added some Garam Marsala per her suggestion. It was great on salmon.

Kafta (BBQ)

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
Love these but after making did make a couple changes, added about 1 t. garam masala and 1/2 t. thai seasoning and cumin. Just our own personal taste. Then we made them a little flatter on the sticks and served them with pitas and humas. YUM!

Ghirardelli® Individual Chocolate Lava Cakes

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I've made this many times, following directions (although not always Ghirardelli chocolate) and it's really good. I always get compliments on it. Much better than the mix you buy which I grabbed once as I needed a quick dessert and knew I didn't have everything at home.

Beef Samosas

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
THis was really good with the changes we made. I used AuntWebbies dough recipe (but found I needed to double it to make enough for all the filling) and added a little lime juice after everything was added. I also used instant mashed potatoes to save time. My son was craving these and since we don't have anyplace that serves these within 200 miles, this hits the spot

Best Bruschetta Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
This was very after I added other ingredients based on other reviews. I added balsamic vinegar, onion and just a little bit of sugar. I brushed the french bread with EVOO and sprinkled with garlic and Parmesan cheese then toasted for a few min. in oven. After I put the Bruschetta on I sprinkled a little more cheese on top before serving.

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
I agree that these are a lot like bakery bowls. Per other reviewers, I cut sugar down to 1/4 cup. I used my bread machine to make it. I put ingredients in order recommended and after it was done, made into 6 rounds , I wanted bigger ones and baked as directed but since they were bigger, they took a little longer. I used them to put Beer Baked Irish Beef in...UMMM.

Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
I received a similar recipe from a friend but lost it so found this one. I used a package of shredded cabbage with carrots and per suggestion of someone else, doubled the sauce. Per my friend's recipe, I used 2 packages of oriental ramen and mixed the seasoning packets in with the sauce. I also put in a little sesame oil and 1/s rice wine vinegar. I remember my friend's recipe said to let the dressing blend flavors overnight but I was hungry so ate it right away and it's very good.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This was pretty good, I hate to not rate it better since I changed it a little. Instead of some of the liquid and Italian dressing mix, I put in 3/4 of a bottle of Italian dressing. My son liked it. My husband and I though it was ok, a nice change from the French dips we make all the time.

Perfect Cocktail Sauce

This was ok but a little too sweet for me. I would cut the sugar down. It worked in a pinch.

Honey Of An Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This was great. It is a very sweet bread though so if your looking for something not sweet, this isn't it. I upped the servings to 15, let the bread machine make the dough and it made 1 large loaf and one rustic. I baked it at 375 for about 40 min. (I don't like things baked in my bread machine but it's great for mixing and rising). I will make this again.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
EASY and good. I took the advice of others and used lime juice but also added the rice vinegar. We also added about 1/2 t. Pampered Chef Asian seasoning and a dash of of garam masala and cinnamon. My son said he thinks he'll add some hot oil in place of the olive oil when he makes again as he likes it hotter.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

This was good as written. I made with beer baked Irish beef off this site and 6 of us ate the whole thing. I did cut temp back to 340 and bake an hour as per another suggestion.

Vickie's Beer Bread

I made this when I had a Pampered Chef party once and the consultant thought I had used a PC mix for it. Why spend $6 for 2 loaves when you can make a loaf for pennies! It makes a great gift for people too.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Based on other reviewers, I added one more egg and sauteed the onion and spinach with garlic in butter. I do agree that it is to much spinach as others have said. I used a deep dish pie plate and there was plenty of room to hold it. I thought it was pretty good but not sure I'll make it again.

Hot Buttered Rum Batter

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This is very good but I think the recipe is off saying confectioners sugar, I think it should be granulated so that's what I used. I wasn't sure how it would work with the powdered sugar. I did like everyone said and used 2 T per cup of the batter and the spiced rum. YUM. It's not what my husband calls hot buttered rum but it's good.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Don't leave out the dill but you can sure omit the onions as it has enough flavor with out it. I never do the egg wash and leave out the almonds too, you won't miss them. Also, Miracle Whip is a better choice than mayo in this IMHO.
