Better Butter Cookies
I think what the writer did here was to put "tablespoon" in place of "teaspoon" for the vanilla and baking soda. Of course it's not three tablesooons of vanilla extract! I think you'll agree that one teaspoon would work just about right for the soda, and 3 tsps for the vanilla...well perhaps a bit much, but nothing to make it a disaster. The cookies actualy turned out very nicely and extremely light and crisp (substituted crisco for butter - I think butter would have been overwelming at that amount). So give it another try with the amounts substituted.

Banana Banana Bread
Hrm...I'm not sure why this one got such mixed reviews. It seems like a simple enough recipe so you'd think that ingredients wouldn't vary enough to warrant batches turning out either fantastic or burnt to a crips on the outside and still runny in the middle and with no flavor. Mine turned out so so...I think as many pointed out, theres just too many bananas in there (2.5 cups of banana is as many as 10 whole bananas) and not enough raising agent. Strikes me as an old time recipe that's actualy a little more like bread than cake, as most modern ones are. If I made this again, I'd use less banana and more raising agents.
