Hey Moose!
About this Cook
I am an up and coming "red neck" Martha Stewart. According to my husband, I am a country girl with a "city-fied" flare! HA-HA!! I am a full time student and homemaker.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes and Cookies....I love to make sweets...Especially CHOCOLATE...anything chocolate...Nothing like it!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being of French Canadian descent, I learned to cook hearty meals. My Grandparents used to cook in the logging camps of the Adirondacks, and I have been gifted many of their treasured recipes. In later years, my Memere ran a hotel and cooked for the many travelers and family members that crossed her path. My Mother began cooking at an early age and grew to be the amazing cook she is today. My siblings and I each have our favorite meal or dessert that she prepares for us when we visit. No matter how old we get, it makes us feel like children inside.....
My cooking triumphs
There have been many and will continue to be many...I hope!
My cooking tragedies
Again, there have been many, and I'm sure there will be more to come in the future....unfortunately.

Sweet Fried Summer Squash
At first I didn't like this, but as the first batch turned to the third, then fifth, then eigth...We liked it. I found that I needed to keep adding shortening. I also cut the slices thinner and added cooking time to make it more crispy. My husband loved this and so did I. He preferred them dark brown, they were like potato chips! I will say, when they sit, they get soggy so make them and eat them. They really are great. I will make again! Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches
This was AMAZING! I did everything the recipe called for with the exception that I used fresh herbs from my garden. We actually ate this as a pot roast. My husband HATES pot roast, but when he smelled this he tried a piece and liked it SOOOOOO much that we opted to eat it sliced with some garlic mashed potatoes and some fresh baby green beans. It was wonderful. Thank you for a recipe that has finally let me serve pot roast in my home! I will be shredding the leftovers tonight and serving it with some fried onions and peppers. YUM! Can't wait! Thanks again!

Neat Sloppy Joes
My husband loved this, but I felt like it was missing something. I still can't put my finger on it. It was good, great for kids. But I really didn't love it. I will keep searching for that special ingredient.
