I'm a mother an 11 y/o and an 8 y/o. And I LOVE everything about food..cooking...eating...talking about it...touching it...looking at it...dreaming about it...it makes me happy!!!
My b/f loves food too and is more than happy to sample all of my creations. His daugher lives far from us and she is a diabetic so when she visited us at xmas it presented a whole new cooking challange which I gladly embraced with the help of allrecipes!! I had fun creating diabetic friendly meals that we all enjoyed! My other 2 children both love food too, although one is a little on the 'picky' side. Baking to me, is self-medicating. It's what I find myself doing when I'm stressed/sad/bored/anxious...it always makes me feel better!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake almost anything....sweets...breads...buns.. I really put my heart & soul into it and it's what I seem to be best at.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother, sisters and I baking sweets for Christmas....making gingerbread boys & girls with my kids...
My cooking triumphs
jelly doughnuts, challah bread, eclairs, samosas, bagels, perogies...
My cooking tragedies
i've screwed up a few things...and still do!!! when i was a teenager i made "fried" rice with worchestershire sauce, thinking it would be an adequate subsitute for soy sauce ...afterall, it was the same colour!!! I've had my share of tragedies...homemade pasta being another one...but i'm going to try again soon!! :-)
