I am a married, mother of 4. My husband and kids are great eaters. They all love homemade cooking. My husband is a wonderful cook too. I have been really blessed. He is a wonderful husband AND he really takes pride in a meal that we all enjoy. He has recently started making homemade soups....I love soup. I could eat soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He recently made a Chicken Sopa soup that fed me and my soul....I am a happy woman. Our house has 2 great cooks and 4 thriving children....life couldn't be better.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Making pies is my favorite, "feel good" activity. I love when my family eats and enjoys the pies I make. My girls and I love spending the day before Thanksgiving in the kitchen baking many different kinds of pies. The girls tell everyone that "Mom makes at least 7 different kinds of pies for Thanksgiving"....and we do....but if we didn't they would be so disappointed. They love that time as much as I do.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have always loved Thanksgiving dinner and the whole preparation of the BIG FEAST. We have a baked turkey, a deep fried turkey and a baked ham every year. My children love a corn casserole recipe handed down by their grandma. That is on the table every year as well as the Blue Cranberry Sauce recipe I got from this site. It is fabulous warm or cold. I prefer it warm with a homemade biscuit.
My cooking triumphs
My 1st Thanksgiving dinner for 20 people. Everyone walked away from the table with smiles and contented sighs. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. Now we host the family Thanksgiving dinner and I couldn't be happier!
My cooking tragedies
There were many along the way....but I never lost hope. I just kept learning as I went and now I feel comfortable cooking or baking almost anything.
