Carmel Apple Martini

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
I thought this was just okay. I would have used less vodka, it was pretty strong tasting. Someone had put apple juice in it, that may tone it down. I don't think I'll be trying this again.

Pollo Mediterranean

Great flavors! We put it on spaguetti, I think the bow ties would have been better. I wouldn't change a thing! I didn't give it a 5 because it has to knock my socks off for that. This was just plain good!

Sour Cream Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
We really like this a lot! I used a thinner cut pork chop and halved the cooking time, I need to reduce it even more. But regardless, it was very tasty! I used white wine instead of milk, mushroom soup with roasted garlic, put the sour cream on the meat, that was really good, and put the sauce on pasta. We put parmesan cheese on the pasta. It was all really good! A keeper for us!

Coconut-Apple Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Wow! This was incredible! THe coconut made it crispy and sweet on the top. I had read a not so good review that said it got too done on the top and the apples weren't cooked, so I sliced the apples very thin and took it out of the oven a couple minutes early. It was perfect! Thanks for the terrifically good and easy recipe!

Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
This was really a good quick salad. I did change things a little. I think it needed a tiny bit more vinegar, I don't like a strong vinegar taste but this needed a little more. I also used sea salt with lavender, it really gave it a great flavor and aroma! I added pears and lavender candied pecans. Super good!

Awesome Summer Watermelon Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This was a really interesting blend of flavors. It isn't the prettiest looking salad but great taste. We didn't use all of the dressing either, like another reviewer and agree it really wouldn't work leftover. We'll do it again.

Grilled Lemon Herb Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I liked this alot, I don't care too much for pork chops so it was a great taste for me. My husband would have given it a 3. He thought it was good but not memorable. I will do it again,it was tasty and simple. I did "massage" the meat as one reviewer suggested. I don't think it made any difference. But then I hadn't done it without so I don't have anything to compare it with.

Sole with Bananas

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
This has the basis of being incredible! I did it according to the recipe but put the wine in the sauce and didn't uses as much.It was great. Next time I will use Petrale sole instead of Dover, it has less water content. I will also make the sauce a little thinner, mine was super thick. I loved the bananas! I want a banana in each bite so I will add more. All in all, very tasty! We loved it!I'll do it again with the changes and may change the rating to 5 stars!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
OMG! This was incredible! I didn't marinate it or pound it. I cooked the spinach only 1 1/2 minute in the microwave so it still had some moisture that transfered to the chicken. I used feta cheese and added about 1 1/2 tbsp of chopped basil. It was unbelievably good! Next time I will try the pepperjack, I didn't have it at the time. A great basis recipe to go by!!

Golden Pork Chops

I thought his was good, not great. I think it needed more flavor, I added garlic but next time I will saute it with the onions. I added white wine and I added garlic salt to mine. My husband thought it was great the way it was

Chicken and Broccoli Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I really liked this recipe. It was light and tasty. I did change it some though. I added more garlic and used the tube basil you can find in the store. I also splashed some white wine in when it was cooking. It added just the right richness that may have been lacking if I had of used chicken broth or left it as the recipe stated. I will do it again!

Cucumber Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
Very light and tasty! The recipe called for mixing the sour cream mixture into the salad but the picture had a dollop on top so we did that instead. It made a better presentation. I would make a little more "dressing" next time but still this was super good! I tried it again and added cubed teriaki marinated chicken for a great lunch salad. Super good!

Yum! Great flavors! We used bone-in lamb steaks. They were a little tough so next time we will do lamb chops. We loved the crust! It was super easy and very tasty!

Grilled Pork Chops with Balsamic Caramelized Pears

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I would have rated this higher but I didn't have time to marinate it as long as the recipe asked for. So for just a half hour of marinating, it was still very flavorful. I can't wait to try it again when I have more time for the marninade.

Grilled Halibut with Cilantro Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Really yummy! I read another review that said they wished they had used Old Bay seasoning, so I did. It was great! We love cilantro and the lime and garlic were very subtle. The Old Bay added just the right spice. We'll be doing this again and again! Thanks for a really simple and fresh recipe for halibut!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
Oh My gosh! That was an incredible cheesecake! I served it at Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! I did double the cheesecake ingredients like one of the other reviewer did, and also precooked the apples in the microwave and added flour to them with the spices. It was just the right texture and combination of cheesecake and apples are great! This is a do over and over again!

Braised Lamb Shanks

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
We just tried this dish and it was fabulous. I had read other reviews halving the basalmic vinegar and that was perfect! Having lots of different cuts of lamb in our freezer,we used spareribs. I also used fresh Roma tomatoes instead of canned, we did half the recipe so used 4 tomatoes.Great dish! Can't wait to try it with a shank!

Marinated, Breaded Lamb Chops with Rosemary and Garlic

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This was a great recipe for lamp chops! I had read another review that used half soy sauce and half worchestershire sauce so I did that. We like our lamb medium rare so I cooked it 15 minutes on one side and then inserted a meat thermometer and cooked to 160 degrees. Next time I will cook it to 155 as I like it a little rarer. The flavors were great regardless.

Cucumber-Avocado Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
I thought this dressing was pretty good. I didn't think it was too thick but it did need something. I might put in more garlic next time. The cucumber taste was great and the cilantro really complimented it.
