I have a passion for cooking. I believe it all started b/c i love to eat. I am also a very picky eater, and cooking made sense to gain greater control over my food preferences. It helps to have a great grandmother that was passionate about her kitchen and cooking too. I remember watching her whip stuff up from scratch but usually she preferred to be left alone when she was in the kitchen which i too prefer solitude cooking so i missed a lot of her wizardry. Cooking is like an art to me, and it allows me to clear my head and relax. When i took a vocational test my senior year of High School, the number one job preference based on my personality and interests was culinary arts. My favorite things to cook
I would LOVE to own a soup shop. Soup is my favorite thing to eat and cook. I could eat soup everyday. I love anything with spice, cheese, or potatoes too. My favorite spices/herbs are cumin, curry past, cilantro, and cayenne pepper. I also have a thing about textures. I love food that i do not have to chew. Perhaps in a past life, I had no teeth.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I miss my great grandmother's spanish rice.
My cooking triumphs
I look forward to the day when i can just start mixing things together without measuring or reading a recipe like my great grandmother did.
My cooking tragedies
Not watching my grandmother enough when i was younger.
