Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
We made these for our Halloween party and they were a big hit...really quite easy to make, it just looks hard. As some of the other reviewers said, make them much thinner than what the recipe says or they turn out looking more like ogre fingers...I didn't have whole almonds so I used slivered and they looked creepy and awesome. I will now make these every year. Thank you Sandra!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I made these for a fire dept dinner and they went over well. I also used frozen meatballs. I cooked them in the oven according to the package directions and made the sauce while they were cooking. When the balls were done I put them in the sauce and heated them through for about 15 or 20 minutes. I did as others suggested and just used 3/4 of a cup of the jelly. They were very good. Thank u for the recipe!

Brownies In A Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
I made 5 batches of these today for Christmas presents. I put them in decorative cookie bags and paired them up with Christmas oven mitts. I also made a batch for myself to see if they were even worth giving away. They are very nice. Moist and chewy and rich. I did add a tsp of vanilla but that's the only thing I changed. I was going to melt the butter to make the batter easier to spread but found I didn't have to. Really good brownie recipe and thanks for sharing!

Mexican Baked Fish

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Very nice! Doesn't get more simple than that...nice flavor and the fish was nice and flaky. I didn't have any sharp cheddar so I grated some American cheese that we had a block of,not as good but an ok backup...I really liked the crushed tortilla chips on top. Thank you for sharing!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
Similar to banana bread but more moist and dense. Very very nice flavor and the icing is great with it. As some of the other reviewers said, 1 hour is not long enough. 1 hour and 20 min is perfect. I followed everything else to a tee except I didn't have buttermilk and did the milk/lemon juice thing. I will make this again! Thank u for the recipe...

Frosted Pumpkin Doughnuts

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
These were nice. Less than spectacular but good with tea. I found them rather dry. I followed the recipe exactly but had it scaled down to half the recipe. The icing had a nice flavor but I had to add more milk, maybe something got lost in the conversion. I might make them again sometime...

Country Soup in a Jar

I'm rating this a 5 on presentation only as I gave them away as gifts. Nobody seemed to make the soup and they left them up as 'pretties'!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
We just had this today with some chili. The flavor is really really nice. It was very very crumbly though. Maybe that was because I didn't have any yellow cornmeal so I used 2 cups of cornmeal flour instead. It wont go to waste though! Anyone have any suggestions on how to make cornbread more firm?

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
I just made this tonight and it was great!!! The only thing I changed was the sugar. For the last 1/4 cup I used brown sugar. It was very moist, not dry at all like a couple of the reviews said. I will make this again and again. Thank u for the great recipe :)

Blackberry Cobbler

I just made this tonight and followed it exactly. It turned out nice and moist, the cobbler is sweet and goes well with the tartness of the blackberries. I like it alot and thanks for sharing this recipe :)

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
Pretty darn good I'd say...a lil wetter than I would like though. I followed some of the others advice and used 1 cup of applesauce and 1/2 cup of oil. Maybe that's why it was so wet? Anyways the flavor was awesome and I'm pretty sure none of it will go to waste ;)

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
This is EXACTLY like that drive in restaurant your talking about up in Canada! I live in the states now and have missed these onion rings. I can't believe I can have them when I want to! It is alot of prep work but it is worth it in the end. Like another reviewer, I only had seasoned bread crumbs but it turned out great! AWESOME recipe! Thanks soooo much for sharing, I'm grateful!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
OK! Soooo I made the 'Clone' recipe here on this site and thought they were really really good (the dough was a bit tough but very good still) THIS recipe is PERFECTION! I think the pudding in the dough has made it very light and fluffy. I added about another tbsp of butter and brown sugar in the middle as that's all the sugar I had left but found it to be enough anyways..more may have been overkill...I'm ditching the 'clone' recipe and keeping this one. I used my own cream cheese frosting recipe because I found it to be the best I've tried. These rolls are NOT dry and like one of the reviews said , take care in rolling them kind of tight. I'm not in an area where I can get the mall version anymore and have missed them sooo much, not now! Oh and they are still nice and moist the next day...Thanks so much for this recipe!

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! I made it exactly as the recipe directed and it was the best bread I've ever made in my machine. Great crust, moist and chewy on the inside. I dunked some in soup and dipped some in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I will make this over and over. Thank u so much for this recipe!

Cappuccino in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
I left the nutmeg out as I don't think it belongs in cappuccino and it turned out FANTASTIC. We loved this recipe and I bottled 4 jars of it tonight to give as Christmas gifts. I used a French Vanilla creamer as well. Very nice flavors and body....Love it, thanks sooo much for this recipe. I will pass this recipe on.

Sweet and Sour Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I felt there was something missing from this recipe. It was ok but I needed a lil more flavor so I added a bit of garlic salt and some chili pepper flakes.I used fresh beans and reserved 3/4 of the water they were cooked in for the juice. Still something tasted a bit off to me, it may just not be my kind of dish. I found it more sweet than sour. Thanks for sharing though! :)

Turkey Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
The ONLY thing I changed in this recipe was that I didn't have turkey so I used beef and it was excellent. The rolls stayed together, no fussing with toothpicks! The sauce is sweeter than I have ever had but was really nice. The cook time was right on the money. I shared some with my grandparents and they loved it too..I will make these again and thanks for the great recipe :)

Banana Bread V

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
GREAT flavor and very moist! I did follow some of the other reviews as well and did half brown sugar and half white. I added a tsp. of vanilla and a lil cinnamon.I had 3 mashed banana's which added up to 1 1/3 cups so I added it all to the recipe. My COOKING TIME was 47 minutes exactly. (that's when the toothpick came out clean)Anyways, it came out very nicely in my bundt pan and thank u Pat for the nice recipe! :)

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2006
YUM!!! I just made these tonight and boy were they worth the wait. I found the dough very tough to deal with and it seemed rather hard on my breadmachine due to the heavy dough, but they came out great! I used a cream cheese icing recipe that I already had but it was almost exactly the same as yours but doubled. Thanks for sharing.
