Teriyaki Flank Steak
This is our favorite "Japanese" dinner. The marinade works great for chicken and even marinated turkey burgers stay moist and flavorful. I skip the oil in the marinade to cut calories and fat and it doesn't affect the taste at all. Great recipe.

Shrimp in Lobster Sauce
I agree that the recipe, as is, is bland. I changed the 1 c water to chiken stock since I saw that as part of the sauce on a different web site. Much more flavorful. Also, I added a T of fermented black beans which I rinsed before adding after I stir fried the shrimp. This was much more like the flavor I get from restaurant take out. Good basic recipe.

Butternut Pound Cake
I've been making this cake for over 20 years and it's still the family favorite compared to any other pound cake. I don't usually have canned milk around the house and have substituted regular milk and even sour cream. It all works and it's all good. The butternut flavor gets better after a few days and this cake freezes beautifully.
