Easter Egg Bread

This bread just came out of the oven and I have to say, it's outstanding. I don't have cardamom so I put some lemon zest. I made a small braid to "test" it since I'm bringing the big braid to my daughter's tomorrow. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and I can't wait to show off the results.

Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake

I'm making this cake again today to bring to a luncheon tomorrow. I have to say it's the best ever pound cake recipe - I followed other reviewers' recommendations re the baking powder, less sugar, and I add lemon zest since I don't have mace. Also, 325 deg. 1 hr 10 min. works best in my oven. Also, whip the daylights out of the batter before folding in the dry ingredients, as suggested. One other thing, it makes too much batter for my bundt pan, so I make a few cupcakes or a small 9 X 9" cake pan. This cake is really awesome. I'm always asked for the recipe !!

French Breakfast Muffins

Good recipe, however I tweaked it a bit. Instead of nutmeg I put 1 tsp. fresh lemon rind and 1 tsp. vanilla extract. I made 8 muffins out of the recipe which are a nice size, not huge nor small. For the topping I just spread each one with some butter, then sprinkled Demarara sugar mixed with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. They turned out really nice.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese II

Excellent recipe, I did tweak it a bit by adding a teaspoon of white pepper and a teaspoon or so of onion powder to the cheese sauce. Will definitely make this again.

Manicotti Shells

Outstanding and so easy to prepare. I used a small teflon fry pan, and they turned out uniform crepes. I don't think I'll buy store-bought manicotti shells again !!

Simple Country Ribs

This has to be the best ever recipe for ribs, I follow it exactly and my family loves them. I also did them in the oven instead of out on the bbq grill.....again, awesome !
