Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
I bake a lot. I have made a lot of cookies, lots of chocolate chip cookies. I like CHEWY cookies. I do not get what all the fuss is about with these cookies. I followed the recipe exactly, twice. Once I refrigerated the dough and once I did not... made little difference. The cookies are slightly crisp on the edges, but the middles are doughy and soft. I baked longer and the edges got harder but middles stayed soft/greasy. When warm they fall apart... too greasy/sweet, slightly chewy. When cooled, more crunchy, not very chewy at all. I also tried making them different sizes but they all turned out about the same. Very mediocre, bland "okay" cookies.
