The basic recipe is very good, but very bland. Maybe it was me, but I expected a little more flavor. I'll probably use a different soup next time and different cheese. Otherwise, the basic format is an EXCELLENT base for other recipes.

Absolutely flavorless. I took everyone's advice here and added way more seasoning than I thought it needed, and it still wasn't enough. I used water, not broth, which was a mistake. Next time, I'll definitely be cutting slits into the meat and inserting garlic and onion cloves. I might even caramelize the onions beforehand. Also, don't use a lot of liquid. I filled the pan about 1/3 of the way and it was too much. Very very bland and tasteless, if I make this again I would definitely be rewriting the whole recipe.

Very, very good. Exactly what I was looking for in candied sweet potatoes. Very sweet and rich and tasty. I used the fresh sweet potatoes in the store (the orange ones) and they really cooked up well. My only recommendation is to chunk them or slice them very thick (1/4" or thicker) because they break up too easily otherwise and the presentation is lost. I will DEFINITELY make this again!
