Zesty Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was so easy and very good. I used leftover rotisserie chicken, frozen corn and omitted the mushrooms. I used a chicken bouillon cube with 1 cup of water instead of the broth. Instead of stirring in the cheese, I just let everyone put their cheese in their own bowls. I couldn't believe how good it tasted after being so simple to make.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This is excellent. We make our own chicken broth using skin & bones of a store-bought rotisserie chicken, so I used 4 cups of broth instead of the canned broth & water. I also used 1 Tbsp of minced onion since I didn't have an onion on hand. I cooked 4 slices of bacon and cooked with the soup and made another 4 slices to crumble on top. We also garnished with shredded cheese and ate grilled cheese sandwiches with the soup. I will definitely make this again!

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

I made these with sourdough bread and used a slice of medium cheddar and a slice of prolovone on each sandwich. They were very good.

Halibut with Zesty Peach Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
I used orange roughy since my grocery store didn't have halibut at the time and it was delicious. The peach salsa really adds a great flavor.

Tomato Mozzarella Salad

We used provolone the first time we made it (didn't have any mozzarella) and I personally thought it was better than when I tried it with the mozzarella.

These were very good, but they needed to be cooked longer. They were not done around the bone.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

I love this recipe. I have made it several times and it's a very easy quick lunch to mkae. I usually leave the onion flakes out so that I can eat it right away and I don't miss them at all.

Teriyaki Salmon

Excellent! I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I also used salmon fillets and cooked skin-side down, basting it twice while cooking.

These are really yummy! I reduced the amount of sugar based on other reviews. I doubled the beans and bacon for a larger crowd and probably only used 4-8 oz of brown sugar.

Yummy! We, like others, used packaged saffron rice and left out the bay leaf (on accident). It was wonderful. We also didn't have any Italian parsley or onion so we used dried parsley and minced onion.

My husband loved this, but he LOVES spicey things. I did not like it so I combined our ratings and gave it 3 stars. It didn't have much flavor to me, it was just very hot.

This was all right. I was expecting something more similar to the soup our Thai restaurant serves, but this really didn't taste like it at all. If I make it again, I think I'll omit the onions. They really didn't do anything for the soup.
