About this Cook
I am married with one teenage son. Taking foods classes in Junior High and High School definitely sparked my interest in cooking. I love trying new recipes, reading cookbooks and gathering recipes from the internet.
My favorite things to cook
Any new recipe is my favorite thing to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making cookies at Christmas. Every year my mom and I would spend several days making cookies for the holidays. I still do it every year, and so does she, even though we live in different states. Also, Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without homemade Ravioli. My Grandma started that tradition and it's still going strong.
My cooking triumphs
Trying a new recipe, family liking it, that is always a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I have never ever been able to make waffles where the first batch doesn't stick to both sides of the waffle iron, no matter how much oil I put on the waffle iron. I always have to scrape the first one off and then the rest of them come off the iron just fine. And every time I make them I vow to never make them again. I am sticking to my word as my last waffle attempt was in 2003. And it's too bad, my family loves them!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole
This is now one of our favorite breakfast casseroles. This is a great alternative to the traditional eggy breakfast casseroles. I serve scrambled eggs on the side for those of us who like the eggs.

Cube Steak Parmesan
There is not too much to this recipe. I used my own marinara sauce which I always have on hand. The recipe is relatively simple and straight forward. I'm not a big fan of cube steaks, but wanted to try them anyway. I'll stick to chicken or eggplant. Basically, this is the same as a chicken or eggplant parmesan recipe.

Chocolate Covered Cherries
I used this recipe on strawberries trying to duplicate chocolate covered strawberries from a candy store in Memphis. Even though these were good, the fondant did not turn into syrup like I had hoped. I am still looking for a recipe that will work. Try this on strawberries, though, they do turn out good.
