Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Very tasty, but my very thinly sliced potatoes took almost two hours to be cooked fully (at 350). Also, the sauce was quite greasy. Everyone loved the flavor, though.

Chicken with Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Loved this recipe. The sauce is more tangy than sweet, and when you bite into a blueberry, what a wonderful combination of flavors. A keeper.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
Really good sauce. I made this just because I didn't feel like going out to the store to buy a jar of sauce for some eggplant I was making. It was a snap to make. I didn't have any tomato paste, so I just cooked the sauce down for about 90 minutes, and the consistency was perfect. I added about a half teaspoon of brown sugar and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Delicious.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
Delicious. This is my new carrot cake recipe. I followed a couple of the suggestions: adding about 1/2 more flour, some nutmeg, and a tsp. of baking powder. I did everything else exactly according to the recipe, and the result was a dense, beautiful, amazing cake.

These potatoes were delicious--and so quick and easy. Didn't change a thing in the recipe. Everyone loved 'em.

Chili Rick's

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
Really good chili. My son made this the other day, and it was outstanding. My personal favorite chili is "Best B.E.A.N. Chili from this site, but this one was very different--definitely a heavier chili. Very good with cheese and sour cream and tortilla chips. Served it with sweet corn bread.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Wonderful "pie," but I used a cream cheese frosting for the filling, and they were perfect. I don't like the flour paste/crisco/sugar filling. I used a cookie scoop and baked them on parchment paper, and they came off the baking sheet perfectly. I will definitely use this again.

Stuffed Mushrooms with Spinach

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
Everyone loved these mushrooms. They're so flavorful and so different from the breadcrumb version. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used light cream (all I had on hand) with wonderful results, and I did not drizzle on the melted butter before baking; it wasn't even missed. A delicious appetizer.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Wonderful recipe. The chicken was so tender, and the marinade was wonderful. I used splenda instead of sugar, and it was undetectable. I had to use dried rosemary, though, but I just cut down on the amount. This is a keeper that I will use often. Thanks so much.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This is a wonderful brunch recipe. I don't dice the bacon before cooking, but cook the strips and then crumble them into the mixture. I've found that dicing the bacon causes it to cook too quickly; then the extra cooking time in the oven causes it to taste a bit burnt. This is one of my daughter's favorite recipes.

Aussie Chicken

Tried this recipe last night, with great results! A reviewer mentioned that it was time consuming, but I disagree; there are so many things that can done simultaneously that I had it on the table in an hour. It was delicious, and received rave reviews from the whole family. (Just don't read the nutritional information....)

Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This pie was absolutely perfect. I had never made chocolate cream pie from scratch before and had been dying to try this. I had no problem with consistency or set up; the only reviewer suggestion I used was to add the white of one of the eggs, but I don't think it made any difference. This is a WONDERFUL recipe. Thanks so much.

Decadent Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
This was an easy, delicious dessert. I followed the recipe exactly, using a store-bought chocolate cookie crust. My only complaint is that there was not enough room in the foil pan for all of the fudge topping, so some of it spilled over the sides. Not a fault of the recipe, however. Next time I'll make my own crust and use a springform pan. Excellent.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Everyone liked these very much. I thought the mustard flavor was a little overpowering (so I may reduce that next time), and I couldn't really taste the cheese (I may increase that next time...). I sprinkled them with freshly ground black pepper and paprika. A nice change from standard deviled eggs. Thanks!

Chicken 'n' Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
This got rave reviews from husband and son. I have to admit, I made a couple of changes~~I threw in some leftover chicken gravy with the milk/soup mixture. I added fresh, uncooked mushrooms which cooked up nicely in the oven. I didn't have much cheddar, so I layered some provolone over the casserole before dropping on the biscuits. I also had no Bisquick, so I whipped up "E-Z Drop Biscuits" from this site, and this dish was a winner! A quick and delicious way to use up leftovers.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

These were great. I needed something in a pinch to top off a chicken/casserole thing, and they were perfect~~light and fluffy. I used oil instead of butter, as someone suggested. Easy and fast!

Sweet Potato Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
These were good~~not fantastic, but good. I added extra baking powder, and used brown sugar and cinnamon to up the flavor. Served them hot with butter and drizzled honey on them as well. The consensus was that by themselves they were pretty nondescript but that the butter and honey put them over the top. I'll probably make these again....

Easy Dinner Hash

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
I didn't taste this (not a sausage fan), but this simple recipe went over really well with the men in my house. No frills, just stick-to-your-ribs good. I added some minced garlic; that's the only change I made. I accompanied it with a couple of fried eggs, over-easy...they gobbled it up.
