About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was 8 years old. I have taken lessons at a Gourmet Cooking shop (an outreach for the Culinary Arts School) for many years and then started a gourmet cooking group.
My favorite things to cook
Italian, Italian, Italian! I also make great appetizers and desserts, thanks to all the cooking classes I took in my 20's and 30's.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All Southern foods, my mom fried EVERYTHING. However, I hardly fry a thing. My husband has to beg me for fried chicken; which I do very well thanks to my mothers southern recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I was a caterer for many years and was only known by request (didn't advertise) but stayed very busy!
My cooking tragedies
My first turkey. I forgot to take out the inside packet containing the neck, gizzard, etc. My husband freaked!!!

Nutty Apple Crisp
In the south we like our desserts "sweet". I used granny smith apples and the next time I make this I will add 1/2 cup of sugar in with the lemon/water mixture. It was a bit tart w/out the sugar. Good if that's the kind of crisp you're looking for.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs
I didn't care for this at all. All I got was heat and lime. I worked with the taste (added white sugar, a little soy, a little dijon mustard) and it rounded out the flavors a bit more. Sorry, I really wanted to like this recipe:(
