About this Cook
I have been married for twenty years. I have two teenage sons and a bunch of pets. I sometimes lose track of just how many there actully are. I am a stay at home mom and I love to cook. Now that the kids are older it is a lot nicer because they are a lot more willing to try different things. I like to read, camp, garden and enjoy the outdoors when it is actually warm enough here in Canada to be outside.
My favorite things to cook
My favourite things to cook are any kind of pasta, soups, stews and I am finally getting really good at baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always just do the very traditional Christmas and Easter dinner. Pretty typical I guess. Everyone also picks their favourite birthday dinners and cakes.
My cooking triumphs
Learning in the first place was a triumph. I was terrible and learned slowly over the years. But, now I am completely hooked on trying new things and every week find at least a couple of new things. I'm sure everyone is tired of being a guinea pig.
My cooking tragedies
I once forgot that I had a cake with seven-minute frosting sitting in the oven to keep the cat away from it. I then turned the oven on to heat it up and needless to say, lit it on fire. Scary!

This was really good. Made it for St. Patrick's Day and it was great. Made it exactly as posted.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies
These are so good. I sometimes throw in other chips like white and chocolate. Also, a handful or two of raisins. Delicious
