Grilled Pheasant Poppers

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
My husband just went on his annual pheasant hunting trip. I threw this recipe in his bag, as it looked easy for a non-multitasking man. He called me and said they were great, and were a huge hit with the guys. They made them two nights in a row. I can't wait to try them myself. Thanks!!

Yum! We used 2 smaller filets, and cut the sauce in half. Wonderful!

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Even better the next day! I used only 1tbsp. olive oil. Worth letting it sit for a few hours to meld the flavors.

Sweet & Spicy Snack Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
The 1st time I made this in a jelly roll pan and it came out with a slight burned taste. The second time I made this I put it in a roaster pan and it came out much better. Nice bit of spice kick. Next time I may add just a bit more brown sugar for a little more sweet taste.

Easy AND tasty! What could be better? I skipped the nuts, as I don't like them, and used salted butter and omitted the extra salt. Very good.

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
This is so good! I've made it several times substituting the bourbon with brandy (it's what we had in the house the 1st time I tried the recipe). This is my husband's favorite meal now!

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
This was excellent! Just as good as any I've had in a restaurant. I too cut the cornstarch down. I had to use red pepper flakes and cider vinegar as I didn't have chili peppers or white wine vinegar. I also omitted the msg. This is a keeper at our house!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2003
WOW! I had never made apple pie before this! I will never need to try any other recipe. This was the best apple pie I have ever eaten. My husband said the same. We fought over the last piece. I took a few ideas from a previous reviews and added 1 tbsp. cinnamon & 1 tsp. nutmeg to the syrup, put the syrup inside, put a full crust on top, and brushed the top with the syrup. I did put foil on the crust edges after the 1st 15 minutes. It was perfect! I will be making this one for years and years! THANK YOU REBECCA!
