About this Cook
I am married to an Airman and we are living in Japan. I am a hairstylist now, but am going to school to get my pre-vet requirements done so I can hopefully apply for vet school when we get back to the States.
My favorite things to cook
I don't really like cooking, I like baking. I think it's because I am more eager to eat brownies than dinner!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family was always a fast food family so I never really learned how to make anything other than college food until I got married.
My cooking triumphs
I have learned to make quite a few things now. I had to or we wouldn't really eat, because the things my husband cooks are usually inedible. The dish I make he always asks for is cream cheese and veggie enchiladas.
My cooking tragedies
I was always the person that could burn popcorn in the microwave hitting the popcorn button. I don't know how.. But I have a tendency to transpose numbers in a recipe. One time I made choco chip cookies, but I mixed up the sugar and salt.. it was embarassing. I made 5 dozen cookies before I tasted the batter. I ALWAYS taste my batter now.

Cauliflower-Cheese Soup
I agree, it was good, but I found it a bit bland, and the texture of the cheese totally changes when reheated, even on the stove. I can see it being great for kids though who don't usually like overpowering flavors.

Homemade Focaccia Bread
This is a good recipe not only for focaccia, but I also have used it for pizza dough, just rolling it out thinner. I also put italian seasoning and extra rosemary in the dough itself, and when making it as bread, I brush it the last couple minutes with butter, onion powder, fresh minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, italian seasoning, and kosher salt for AWESOME garlic breadsticks.

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken
This is one that lives in our hall of fame. Hubby LOVED it and even asked for it again for the next week. It's not as messy as the directions sound like it would be, and it was totally worth the minimal effort. :)
